Pain aggression in dogs – Pet tip 257
Unfortunately the following two scenarios occur from time to time: You’re innocently petting your cat or dog when all of a sudden your pet bites you. The same reaction can happen when you pick up your cat or dog the way you always do, when all of a sudden it bites you. What is going on here? Your pet NEVER bites you, and now that you are trying to show it some love, it bites you. Has your pet gone mad? What might be going on here is pain induced aggression.
It seems so obvious after you bring your pet to a veterinarian to figure out what is going on, but it may be as simple as pain induced aggression. Pain induced aggression means that your pet has exhibited an aggressive behaviour because it is in pain. This is especially common in older pets that may be suffering from arthritis or perhaps one of their internal organs is bruised or diseased.

06/11/2007, i found out today spotdog has tumors. i don't know how long he has, x-rays didn't look good. i paid $50 for spotdog, he looked pitiful when i got him. he had a big head, little body, wirey coat. i got him for my dad, he had a stroke and his dog got run over and i thought it would help him to have a dog to play with. dad died and mom isn't much of a dog person. problem was spotdog was a house dog and mom didn't want him in the house. i built him a pin and i could see that he wasn't happy and i took him home. radar was my lab mix, he was old. spotdog kept him on his toes, i think he lived longer because of spot. spot was the name he was given, he was much more than a spot, i named him spotdog. i have always told him he's about the best dog, not quite, but he's my boy. spotdog is the smartest dog i have had. i'd tell him to wagg his tail and he would. he always is glad to see me and misses me when i'm gone. i don't want to let him go, but i know it won't be long. it will be hard to make it with out my tailwagger.
