You never even got to explore your tank, but I loved you so much & so obviously that everyone who saw us laughed about it. You'd come from the carnival--an ominous beginning, but I was sure we'd pull through together. Seven hours after I tossed that winning ping-pong ball, you stopped swimming, & I've been crying ever since. I am so sorry to have failed you.
