Prince was my best friend. My parent's got him for me on my 5th birthday, and we've been best friends ever since. To this day, it still hurts that's he's gone.
Prince died of infection. His breed is prone to unhealthy teeth, and in the end some of his teeth became infected. The infection went to his brain, and lead to his death. I feel guilty today, because he may still have been with us if I had known his teeth were in that bad of condition earlier. If I had only known, he could have been saved.
I didn't even get to say goodbye to him... my parents rushed him to emergency one night, and I couldn't bear to go with them. I didn't want to be there when he died, and I knew he would when they took him to the emergency. Some part of me didn't want to believe it though, and I hoped and prayed he would come back that night...but he didn't, so, I didn't get to say goodbye.
So, I hope this virtual cemetary will compensate somehow...I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye Prince, but I know you're in a better place now.
