High Blood Pressure in Cats – Feline Hypertension – Pet tip 238
Although any cat can suffer from high blood pressure (hypertension) it is most commonly seen in middle aged or senior cats. In case we have forgotten what blood pressure means, blood pressure refers to the force (pressure) of circulating blood against the walls of blood vessels; the higher the force, the greater the amount of stress that’s put on the heart to move the blood. This can cause the heart muscles to enlarge, get thicker, and weaken thereby reducing life expectancy. It’s one of the vital signs used to measure the overall health of many animals including humans.

Fuzzy is a gorgeous male, very territorial in his garden, a big talker, and a lovable cuddly friend. He is very tactile, and talks a lot to his parents. He goes nuts over catnip, and will protect the patch in the garden. He probably hates winter, as he tends to get cabin fever after a few days and races around the house. He is a weatherman, as, when he lies on his head like this, the weather is bad 36 - 48 hours later. All year long. He hates being made to do things; but he LOVES to drink water out of all the sink taps, and has to lick the water in the shower after the humans come out! He pretty well loves to be with humans, but a special place is against the radiator in our bedroom.
