hot spots or something else.

hi there im nick and i just joined this forum for some help. my dog is a 16 year old dog. that is still active. in really good shape for his age. he will still go for runs with me and play with toys. i love him a whole bunch, he has been here for over half of my life. out of no where he accumulated one red spot. so we took him to the vet, he said hot spots and gave him cephalexix (which i think is an antibiotic) and prednisone (steroid). also we shave the spots that are irreataded. we have done every thing told to do by the vet. however the spots are turning to scabs (good) bit more spots are coming up. it is getting worse. could it be something else such as blastomycosis? we are calling the vet tomorrw to arange an appointment. here are some pics of my dog.
