Need help with ID -pics-
Hi there I'm new to the website and new to dog ownership! About a month ago my girlfriend and I got a dog. Her name is Ivy. She's now about 3 1/2 months old. She was found on the side of the highway with her mother and three other dogs that didn't seem to be related. They were all under weight and she had ringworm. The mother is a 35lb. shepherd cross, but they weren't sure about the father. They thought boxer. I would be interested in anyones ideas on what they think she might be. Right now she's about 12lbs. I've included a photo of her mum for reference.
Thanks a mint, Ben and Ivy ps from the photos it's a bit hard to tell how small she or her mother are, but neither of them are big. a pure bred boxer at her age would weigh about twice as much as she does. Last edited by Ben and Ivy; August 21st, 2008 at 02:19 AM.

Ivy is absolutely adorable
 and mom is a beauty as well.  It is really hard to tell when they are that young but I think she is either part boxer or part pitbull. Either way she is just too darn cute.

I would also have to say part pit. But absolutely adorable I just want to give her a big hug and mom too. Do you have mom also or just Ivy?

What a CUTIE!!!!
I really like her markings, she is a little beauty!!! My guess would be part Pit as well... it's like Cheese Whiz- it adds personality!!!

I agree w/ the others... looks like a precious pittie mix to me! she is beautiful! her markings are absolutely gorgeous... and that puppy face... perfect!!! I do hope we get to see more pics of Ivy as she grows up! as she gets older, another breed likness may start to show more. it's really hard to tell when they're pups, especially with the adorable mixes.

Hey everybody! Thanks for the replies. Ya she is adorable and we're really lucky to have her.
Her mum was adopted around the same time as she was so I hope she's with a loving family now too. That girl was a trooper keeping four puppies alive in 35c weather for days. I'm beginning to think she's more pit that boxer myself. or perhaps english staffordshire, who know's... just wanted to get an idea of what to expect from her. thanks for the input, here's a couple more photos of her. ben

So cute! Looks like a black mouth cur/pitt mix to me. I love love love dogs like this. The brindle pattern is absolutely gorgeous!

She looks boxer X. For the love of DOG when this dog is sterilized and micro-chipped please ensure you say BOXER X. Please take these as words of experience. Do not even breath the word pit X.
She is gorgeous BTW.

Just curious as to why this thread and one other are being revisited? They are both from last year? This one August. OP to my knowledge has not returned. The other from Jan of 08?
