Yup, I would tell her "Nope, Im looking for a chi not a chi mix" and then I would let her know that I didnt find her breeding practices very ethical at all and will be searching elsewhere. She has fallen into the "Designer breeder" category now.

It is a mixbreed crossed between an italian greyhound and a chihuahua and the pups cannot be reqistered both breeds have enough health problems on their own, you don't need to start crossing them to create more, this is one breeder you want to stay far away from, if anything run as fast as you can.
I am going to search for a better breeder in Ontario

Hmm It does not look like theri are too many breeders I am impressed with here in Ontaro, found one in Alberta that covered most of the points I would look for in a good breeder.
This one I consider iffy they do show, there is no mention of genetic testing, ther website is too cutesy so that puts up red flags for me, and it seems they are breeding for the pet market rather than for show http://www.tinyteacupchihuahuas.com/past.htm Another breeder that shows but provides very little info on sires and dams of pups and no mention of genetic testing http://www.chihuahuapuppyhavencanada.com/ Another that is showing that does not appear to be breeding titled dogs more no mention of genetic testing http://www.lilmiracleschihuahuas.hom...m/Puppies.html Of all the sites I have went thru this breeder I have found is the only one I would consider, all males and females used for breeding are titled, it helps he is also the Chihuahua Club of Canada Director - Ontariohttp://www.buddysrus.ca/site/pages/main.html You might even want to contact to see if there is a breeder he would recommend closer to you, they are located in London ont

Unfortunately, chihuahuas are one of the hardest breeds to find a GOOD breeder for because there are so many bad backyard breeders. Be sure that any breeder you go to does health tests. Like other people said, this person isn't even selling real chihuahuas, just mutts! |

i know its hard to find a breeder for chihuahuas and a good one at that.i had one lady going to sell me a chi for 1200 and when i was interested she then let me know the pup had cherry eye and she wasn't going to get it fix cause it was small and she could live like that.the funny thing was she never posted the pic with the cherry eye and this pup was going to be a breeder female.

Why not check out petfinder.org? I'm seeing a lot of rescues in Ontario (though geographically I'm not sure where you're located in relation to Peterborough or Toronto), and many chi's up for rescue

I'm new to this site
Hi everyone! New to this site & a dog lover.
I would like to get advice b/c I see a lot people here are against mix breed dogs. I am curious to know why. I own two of them, my experience with them has been wonderful and I wouldn't trade them for the world. Bella-my Pekepoo (yes I realize this isn't a recognized breed, but by calling her this you know what kind of dogs she is mixed with) and O'Riley my Maltipoo are the best dogs ever. I am surprised at the bashing of these animals( not neccesarily here, but on other websites as well). I feel my mutts are the best choices for my family for several reasons. First off I bought both of them within my family budget, which isn't $1,000 I'd spend on a purebred dog. 2- My husband has pet allergies and are choices are limited to about 9-10 dogs(expensive purebreds) dogs that were bred with poodles give us other options(and neither of our dogs bother him.) 3- Before buying these puppies (out of the newspaper) I searched 3 different pounds in surrounding counties with out any luck of finding a dog my husband can handle. Rescue places will not allow me to rescue a small dog b/c I have a small child. I know we are not the only family under these circumstances and I support "mutt breeders" b/c they are beneficial to families like our own. I guess there are ups and downs to buying a mutt, but my experience has been great! I'm so happy with both of my "kids". My dogs get regular checkups with the vet, and both are very healthy playful dogs, who everyone loves. I feel that with all mammels, you never know future health problems. Even with humans, I don't know anyone who hasn't married someone they loved b/c of a family history of health problems, that will be inherited to their kids(heart diease, diabetes..) Same thing with dogs, no matter where they come from, or how much money is pd. you can never see the future. I did not post this to argue. I am simply curious to see what others have to say b/c I don't understand all the fuss against "designer dogs." |

A puppy or young adult from a shelter would fit well within the family budget. I have never seen a shelter that charges more then $200 for a fully vetted, and speutered dog.

Chihuahua's
*** doesn't list genetics either and all breeding males and females are not posted on their site.
*****, they have the top long coat in Canada for 2006. They are registared with the ckc. You can get a detailed genetic history of your pup from them when you buy which you can verify with the ckc. They do not cross breeds, they are a prure breed chihuahua's. The owner is *******, the web site ******** Very easy to talk to, she has that "everyone is a friend" Eastern presentation ***Please send a pm to the poster for information*** Quote:
