how can i tell if my dog is pregnant or not. i was not there to see her breed. but was told by the breeder that she did but its been 30 days and i can’t tell.
As per the podcast – Ultrasound is the only way to test until the fetuses can be seen by X-ray.
What time of the year are dogs usually in heat? What is the normal age or earlist age that dogs are able to become pregnant. I have a neighbor who has a German Sheperd and I think that the dog is between 1 and half or just two years old. Is she too young to be able to have puppies?
As far as I know the usual time is in the spring and in the fall but it can vary. Female dogs can become pregnant once they reach puberty which is typically between 6 -9 months. Please encourage your neighbor to SPAY the dog immediately. Humane societies all over north America are overflowing with dogs that are killed because there is no room for them. Dogs get ‘accidentally’ pregnant all the time. Unless your neighbot is a responsible breeder whose goal is to better the breed, she should NOT be breeding her dog and should have the dog spayed immediately to prevent accidental pregnancy which happens all the time.
Yes how can i tell if my dog is pregnant her belly is felling out and her tits are also feeling out. She just had a litter a month ago but she didn’t feed the puppies and she dried up.Can she be pregnant again ?

My dog is nine years old. Before her owners bet her. And my parents wont let me bring her in side so she has a old kennle that has dirt as the ground. I am only nine years old and my parents dont care about the puppies. I need to know what to do and i need to know quick!! she is make weird nouises and only eats a little bit. She also berrly ever leaves her dog house. WHAT SHOULD I DO!!
You should call the humane society closest to where you live.
My Chihuahua female started to show some signs of pregnancy the last day she was with a male was around Jan 10th 2008 right know her mamary glands are swallen, bigger but some of them are hard, she lost her appetite and have vaginal discharge that is being treated with canine amoxal, she has her next vet apptment in 2 weeks but want to know if the hard in her breast is normal.

Signs late in the gestation period
The female’s mammary glands will have started to swell up with milk..
Behavioral changes such as turning in circles in search of a nest, anxiousness, decreased appetite, and a characteristic decrease in body temperature to 100 degrees Fahrenheit 24 hours before giving birth. (Normal body temperature 100.5-102.5F).

ok my dog will be a year old soon and went into heat in the middle of july, we have another male dog but he is fixed, and the only dog that i know of that isnt fixed lives up the street but has an invisible fence. We didnt let her out of the back yard (which is fenced) but another female lab always manages to get in, and her mammary glands are swollen and she has gained a bit of weight, and wouldnt eat for about a week, my mom is worried that my dog got out the back with the other lab, and get prego.
Your mom is right to be worried and your dog that goes into heat should be spayed if you want to avoid this in the future.

is it possible to conceive without the dogs locking. There has been a lot of action but no locking.
There’s so many unwanted pets that most members of Pets.ca are against casual breeding. You should ask your vet or mentor breeder for these questions.
