Chew toys for cats?
Anyone know what type of safe chew toys I can use for my baby. She has this nasty habit of shredding paper. Any paper. It's not even safe to have books around her anymore. LOL. Not sure why she does it. I have a zillion toys for her. I play with her everyday as much as I can. Yet she still shreds everything. I need help. Anyone have any advice on why she does this or how to stop her. Thanks.

Oh I would love an answer on this question too, I have this problem with Buddy...he's a biter, I tried getting him a small toy dog bone but he doesn't seem interested. He must think me and the girls taste much better!

I had a paper shredder too! He did this until he died at age 20. Rarely did I get to read an intact newspaper.
![]() What I suggest is to give your cat her own paper and let her shred to her heart's content. Save your newspapers for her, and wrapping paper seems to be very popular too. ![]() You can crumple it just a bit, put it all in a big box and turn her loose! |

Mine only on occasion shred the toalett-paper(Vinnie 2yrs)but nothing else.
I don't think there is any use getting a"chew-toy"for a cat, they do not chew. The three of them have a fresh cat-nip patch growing in my backyard and they'll chew on that, but only for a while ![]() Why do cats do the things they do? Well,it's a mystery, but that's why we love them, right ![]() Like Lucky said, give her her own newspaper to shred ![]()

Ha....I just thought of something...Smoke's favorite thing to chew on is my paper pad wrappers!!! I think it's the crinkly sound she likes, and she never eats them just puts a whole bunch of teeth marks in them. She started pulling them out of the trash and leaving them around the house which could sometimes be embarassing so we had to put a lid on the bathroom garbage!! I still let her have one once in a while, I just make sure I throw it out BEFORE we have company! And I know I have also returned a few borrowed books to my dad with a tooth mark here and there....

for my cats, I had the Cat Spa: http://gothicbarbie.topcities.com/st...ay/image2.html (no, they're not my cats)
They used to bite the top part of that middle piece... it's actually replaceable, since its there for the cats TO actually chew on it. another thing my cats "chewed" on was the standard cat rattle/bell ball (bottom left): ![]() ALso, have u tried the Cat Kong?? ![]() |
