Dog owners need to train kids, too

In light of the recent tragic death of a baby bitten by a Husky in Quebec, this article, "Parents with dogs need to train the kids, too", from the Toronto Star, June 12, 2010 for dog owners is a must read":

I completely agree. Children should be taught how NOT to handle and treat pets.

This is a good article. I bookmarked it to show my Dad. Although he doesn't have any animals, he does have a one year old!

There's a really excellent Canadian website called Doggone Safe that has tons of info on dog bite prevention. Should be a must-read for all parents, whether they have dogs or not.

People are so quick to blame the dogs. I'd never leave Scruffy alone with a child. You never know what a kid is going to do and dogs will defend themselves.

Very unfortunate. Simba has never shown aggression to children or babies but he is never ever left near the baby alone.
