My neighbour has found a home for my latest stray

All we have to do is catch him/her. This is an adorable kitten, black and white with the most beautiful big green eyes, been around for about 3 weeks now. Definately homeless. Looks like it has some sort of nervous disorder too, walks with a slight jerkiness, or twitchiness. Eats like a little demon though and plays with bugs and leaves and the odd mouse it catches. It's wonderful to watch it play.
It really is adorable.
My neighbour has a friend who is a dog trainer who said she would love to take in the kitten. Now this kitten had just started coming to me the last couple of days, and would stay near me as long as I didn't move too fast or reach out to touch it. My neighbour grabbed her earlier today, and the kitten got away, so I'm afraid it's even more wary now.
I gave her a can of sardines to try to lure the kitten into the large carrier she has tomorrow morning. Hopefully it'll go in and she can close the door quickly enough. This cat is crazy for tuna, salmon, sardines, so the smell should be enough to draw it in to eat. I really hope she manages to catch it, I would love to know it's safe and sound in someone's home.

Neighbour tried this morning, I tried this evening. Cute little monster won't be caught. Not giving up, my neighbour is going to get the woman who wants the kitten involved. She's apparently rather good at catching cats, so this one will put her to the test. In the meantime the little minx is out playing with leaves on the front lawn. It really is adorable. Hubby went out to cut the front lawn this morning and it came by and rubbed up against the car to say hi to him, so it's friendly, just wary.
We know what house it's come from, a house a fair distance from my place acutally, at 3 blocks away had a sign up "kittens for sale" a while back. Now the sign says 2 left. Well, one of them has stayed up at that end of the neighbourhood, but this one decided it wanted to leave and has come down to me. Apparently the one up the street looks just like this one. I bet they're not looking after it either.
At least the one at my place is eating well, and has lots of cover to sleep safely. My big indoor outdoor cat has been keeping it safe from other cats, so they know not to mess with it. Funny to see 7 big stray cats sitting watching the kitten eat first, then they move in to the other dishes once it's done. I used to think big Max was tough as nails, but he's a real softy at heart.

Aww how sweet is that? All your other strays watching out for the little one.
Does anyone have a live trap available? That would at least catch the kitty and get it to it's new home. You could put newspaper or a layer of cardboard on the bottom to protect it's little feet and he/she could go to his/her furever home right in the trap.
I have a feeling you will probably end up with the other one before too long.
Thank you so much for all you do for these little ones.

Sigh, saw the little one this morning, she(I've decided it's a girl, ha, ha) came for breakfast. My neighbours family tried to catch her later on and scared her into their backyard, from there she went through the fence out into the CN right of way. There's a flood plain on the other side of the tracks as well. I haven't seen her since. No kitten here for dinner. I'm worried about her. I hope she makes her way back okay.

I hope she finds her way back to you. Now that she has had the scare with people trying to catch her she may take quite a bit longer to warm up to you. But you know that. Sending lots of for the little one.

I hope she finds her way back too. Hopefully she didn't get absorbed in all the new places to explore back there and get herself good and lost. There are coyotes back there so it's not safe.

One of my other new strays just showed up late for dinner, really late. The white one with the grey tabby blotches on him. He's walking on 3 legs. Looks like he's been in a fight, won't put any weight on one of his paws and his tail looks like he's had a good bite on it about half way up. He can move well enough that he won't let me near him though. We'll see how he's doing tomorrow. Might have to try to catch this one for a trip to the vet. He ate two cans of food for dinner, so his appetite isn't hurting. I gave him extra treats too. Watched to see where he's bedding down for the night so I can check on him before I go to work in the morning. Fortunately he's in the hedge that runs down the length of my front yard.....him and at least 3 of the other strays are snoozing in there.
No sign of big face today either.....now that stray is as regular as clockwork when it comes to meals so I'm concerned about that one:sad:. I hope the coyotes haven't started coming out onto the street at night. My neighbour on the other side has his back fence completely down, so it wouldn't be hard for them to come though to the street if they want.

The kitten was there rubbing against my door when I opened it this morning. I was soooo happy to see her. My little princess was hungry too, ate two big bowls of food. I was so excited to see her, I completely forgot to check on the other stray with the bad front paw.
