Talking natural pumpkin for dogs anal glands?

It Has Been Said That Making Biscuits Out Of Natural Pumpkin Ingredients Is A Remedy For A Large (retriever) Dogs Anal Glands. Is This True? And Will It Correct The Build-up Problem Without Any Other Methods Of Applying Pressure To His Anus, Or Visits To A Vet? Or, Are There Other Homeopathic Remedies Available For This Problem? Thank You For Your Time.

There is nothing that has been proven to help this. I have a 1 1/2 year old Golden that has had anal gland problems from day one. I have tried everything possible. She doesn't scoot and doesn't bother with it. We only know there is a problem because of the fishy smell on her. It only happens sporadically, but we certainly know when it happens. I have baby wet wipes on the counter and wipe her off. If it keeps up for a couple days, I take her in to have them expressed. The vet really wants me to have them removed and I will most likely do this, but not yet. He said they have great results and never a problems again.
