Question Montreal Pet-Friendly Apt?

Hi!

Does anyone know of where in dwntwn Mtl. is the best place for pet-friendly apts? My Bulli Scarlet is very lonely We are near the N.D.G. dog run but there are only hyper, long-distance runners there. Except for Meetup.com's monthly Pug Day. Next time is this Sat. March. 1st at 12 p.m. at Sherbrooke O. & Girouard next to Decarie.

I would like to find a 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 ($600 max. ) dwntwn so that Scarlet has some stimulation & foster or adopt a small friend for her.

She's on Dogster at www.dogster.com/dog/507317

Pls help!!!

hmmm I dunno...but i think $600 is too low for downtown. CAn't you foster where you are?

i really don't think it's the location, because downtown you'll meet all kinds of hyper people too. Downtown has less parks/green areas and paths unless you go right by the mountain...that's a great dog walking area i think ...leafy

some people don't advertise they allow pets but they're on a "dog allowed if there's no noise" rule.

can't you find someone from that meetup group to meet with you more often? a friend maybe?

good luck!

Red face Montreal Pet-Friendly Apt? con'td.

Thnx for the tips but Scarlet DESPERATELY needs stimulation. What with her reconstructive back leg surgeries, side effects etc she hasn't been around other dogs all that much. Also, there is little foot traffic our area of N.D.G. & she hits up anyone for attention. She even whats for cars to park, hoping for affection. I don't want her life to pass her by but it is. Before I was hit by a red-light runner a while back I used to bring her downtown in her wagon & leave her in front of the Eaton Center. I was always nearby. She would light up & the change in her on the way back was profound. She needs a playmate. Our last 2 places I had the rental board & housing inspectors on speedial because my landlords took advantage of the no-pets clause to neglect my apts/the buildings. I sighned at this last place on JUNE 31st because her references & our neighborhood reputation (Bulli being pulled in a wagon instead of vice versa) weren't enough. I had to sign a 2 page lease addendum prohibiting everything except for breathing.

She is my life & dwntwn (or nearer to dwntwn) Mtl. will offer her a change & possibly a chance to find friends who WILL stop & play with her.

I think that downtown is not the best choice in your case. There is not much space for dogs to play around. I used to live on plateau not far from Papineau/Laurier and it was perfect. There are two large dog playgrounds nearby. One on Laurier a little to the west of Papineau and another one on Papineau/Sherbrooke. That area is also very close to downtown (15-30min walk).

Good luck!

I live East of downtown but he only allows cats at that is 540 a month with nothing included (3.5) (just off joliette metro so 20 mins to peel metro). Im moving to NDG (Monkland ave) and I know this block of apartments has dogs and cats shes just not fond of having big dogs above another tenant. I'm paying 700 all included....

for 600 you'd get a 1.5 i imagine downtown....check out craigslist and kijiji to see there are loads of apartments....

If you like the hubbub, St. Urbain, on either of Pine Ave., has semi-high-rises you may want to check out. My brother lived in one of them until recently (the first buiding on the North side of Pine) and paid 540$ for a 1 1/2 heated. A clean, very well kept building. I know that several of his neighbors had cats. Whether dogs are allowed, I'm not sure but it wouldn't hurt to take a look. Lots of dogs in the area, and certainly no shortage of friendly people. Good luck.
