Anyone know side affects of prednisolone on dogs?

My dog was diagnosed with Horner's Syndrome (neurological disorder, possibly due to inflammationof nerves, trauma or cancer) because his right eye was drooping and his right pupil was constricted. He was given prednisolone for it. He now is peeing a lot and frequently and for the first time ever peed on the carpet. Is this a side affect or is this another problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It may be a side effect, because it does cause them to drink more and in effect pee more.
If it happens again though, you may want to get a vet to check for a UTI.

My dog was on prednisone for a while and he did drink more, pee more, and sleep more.

Yep, steroids can cause those side-effects, but it would be best to run it by your vet to be on the safe side...

Yes that is 100% a result of the prednisone...It will affect dogs in many ways...For sure they drink ALOT more and results in peeing more! sometimes they just cant control it...it also has also given my dog a HUGE appetite~! Your vet should have given you the pros and cons of this stuff! I call it the miracle drug for dogs because it always seems to work...not always the best medicine though!

Good Luck

Cindy
