Pet podcast #4
We just released our 4th pet podcast. This time we discussed choosing a dog a breed and how important it is to research both the group they came from and the breed itself. Special thanks to Sherry Bedard, a dog behaviourist who helped provide a lot of the information presented in the podcast.
Please give us as much feedback as possible. As always, brutally honest is best! The podcast can be downloaded from here http://www.pets.ca/index-newsletter.htm Here's a description of what a podcast is: What is a Podcast? A podcast is simply an audio file that you can play on your computer or on an MP3 player such as an Ipod. You can think of a podcast as a recorded radio program that you download and then play whenever you want. Podcasts from Pets.ca will of course feature pet tips and other useful pet information. They will be approximately 5-20 minutes in length. Please note that podcasts do not 'stream'. They are downloaded in their entirety (so it takes a couple of minutes) onto your computer or MP3 player before they can be listened to. Thanks as always!

I thought it was good...
The only thing I have to say is maybe they'd be more special if they were more spaced out. ![]() |

Umm... Like instead of every two weeks, maybe one a month.

YAY Foxhounds were mentioned
![]() I like the podcasts that were set up in an interview fashion with specific questions. It would have be interesting to hear from people who have breed experience but I fully understand that it would have taken a lot more time/work! I would have liked to have had more stress placed on the basic needs of all breeds instead of just a break down of the groups. I don't mind that they are every 2 weeks but Prin raises a valid point. People might find them more interesting if they aren't as frequent. Having them once a month would also give you more time to prepare and hoepfully incorporate guest speakers! Maybe a good idea for podcasts would be to have an on-going idea that perhaps follows the story of one person/dog - for instance "puppy diaries" or "Adopting a pet with a history" or "foster issues". You could follow them over time and through the hurdles of training, pack dynamics, socialization, health and behavioural issues - and offer solutions as to what worked for this specific dog and what might work for others in similar positions. It gives a more interactive feel I think but would be a lot of work! I am enjoying these podcasts regardless! ![]()

Marko, you made me laugh because at the very beginning, you say "dogs are men's and women's breast friends".
![]() Other than that, all's perfect. Great work ! ![]() |
