Golden retriever with epilepsy
Moussaillon (Skipper) is an 8 year old sweet boy with epilepsy. He has not had a seizure since August thanks to daily prevenatative medication. He gets along with everyone and is great with other dogs. He loves to play ball and knows a number of tricks. He is especially playful for an older guy. He is clean in the house, does not run away and tells you when he needs to go out or his water bowl is empty.

I did see this sweet golden when I read the newsletter from Nicole recently, I would love to have him but it's not a great idea at this time for another dog. Blaze now has epilepsy and we are dealing with seizures, I hope this dog has a great home very soon. He is worth it forsure!

Golden retriever with epilepsy
I am sorry to hear that Blaze has epilepsy. It must be very frightening. Moose as I call him is a wonderful boy. He is so full of energy and loves to play. This morning he emptied the toy box and there are toys all over the floor. He throws the ball and then retrieves it all by himself.
![]() I am hoping that we will be able to find him a new forever home soon. He has two strikes against him, age and epilepsy and not many people want to take on that responsibility. He will remain with me until a new foster home or forever home can be found for him. |

It is sad to admit but I agree with you, this poor guy does have two strikes against him age and epilepsy.
I have never dealth with an epilespy dog in the past nor have I known of any, now I have no choice but to deal with it. Blaze is my first golden retriever he will not be my last! I LOVE this bred and believe that if people only gave this dog a chance forget his age he can still be a puppy, full of life. The epilepsy can be controlled and he can have a normal life, yes it does take alot of time with the special care he will need but God he is well worth it. This is just another roadblock in our long road ahead, who knows what is next as we all know where he can from. One thing forsure is I will be here the rest of his life no matter what, he so deserve that. One last thing this will not be easy, Blaze has grand mal seizures and he needs to have someone with him all the time. It's alot of worry but we will beat this, and if needed the next and the and the next after that comes along. The Monster will not part us! :king: Lorie & Blaze |

Golden retriever with epilepsy
Although he has epilepsy and is older he is still loves to play. This weekend I brought him to our cottage and he was running around and swimming like a young dog. On the the way home I said to my husband that I forgot he has epilepsy. Aside from giving him his medication there are no other indications.
If someone would give him a chance I am certain they would fall in love with him. |
