Does anyone know of a pet friendly cottage rental?

I am looking to take a short getaway while I have the time off work and was wondering, if anyone knew of a web site or organization or whatever that would help me find a cabin or cottage I could rent for a few days at a reasonable price.

All I want is a cozy fireplace to relax in front of , for about 2-3 days to get away from it all and be able to bring my dog

I've also been searching for a pet friendly vacation..... not sure how far you want to go, these websites have been helpful........ you can search by city/province/state, etc. or by type of vacation you're looking for (eg) cottage/beach/resort/motels

www.petfriendlytravel.com

www.dogfriendly.com

If this place- (www.campdogwood.com) wasn't so expensive, we'd be going in Spring. It looks like a great doggie vacation! Although its near Chicago, and only runs 2 weekends a year.

Good luck!

Pet Friendly Cottages

Yes, I do and have used their service. Have rented a wonderful little cottage and they had no problem with me and my BIG dogs muckin' about!

Go to: www.rentcottage.com

Click on "search for a cottage" and fill in the little boxes to customize your search. At the bottom, there is a box to click on for "pets allowed" and that will show you a list of cottages that allow pets! Had a beauty outside of Wiarton for a week, by a little lake. Dogs loved swimming!!

Thanks you two....

I'll check them out although I think I'll save the swim for summer

I figured if I was off for 2 weeks for my injury I might as well take advantage of a little immpromtu holiday away I dont mind traveling hours as long as the drive is worth it

Thanks again

One of my adopters... she adopted two saints from me... has cottages on a private lake and is totally dog friendly. We love it there and spend any chance we can get to go. She's very reasonably priced. Here's her site:
http://www.gerisgrove.com/ It's about 1 hour from Ottawa if that gives you an idea.
