Training a Thank you

I am trying to think of something unique to teach Daisy as a gesture of thanks. But, I am at a loss.

I've seen dogs give a little bark, but Daisy is a barker and I don't want to enforce that barking is ok.

I thought of maybe a little beg, but I don't want it to look like she is begging.

I thought of maybe a wave or something paw-ish, but that just doesn't feel right as far as a thank you goes.

Any suggestions?

The first that came to my mind was a paw thing. But what about two barks? Like, thank-you (bark-bark). Or teaching him to say thank you. I've seen dogs say it, but I have no idea how someone taught them to do it.

Our old dog Selena we taught to sit on her haunches and raise one paw up for thankyou. We used the command "sit Pretty". People loved it.

Getting her to say thank you. hmmm, that might take a few years to perfect.

Although Daisy does say "Mommm" in the morning when she wants to get up. OK. OK. It's a yawn. But it still sounds pretty good. I've seen the video clip of the dog that says "I love you". Pretty cool.

Sitting pretty might be an option. Less than a beg and more than a paw.

Thanks

We taught Monty to give hug, which from the sitting position is one paw over an arm as we hug him (actually, this was more behaviour capture than teaching, as he would occassionaly do this to us so we encouraged and named it), and sit pretty which is sitting back on haunches with both paws raised.

How about teaching your dog to bow for a thank you?
