another housetraining question

Sams been great, no accidents untill last night,

I took him to be groomed and had forgotten about his normal schedual till we got home and i realised it had been a few hours since his last walk.

before I could get him he had an accident.

so my question is once he has an accident is that a set back per se, or is it something to chalk up to bad timing and call it a day?

it was totally my fault so he wasnt reprimanded or even put in his crate for the accident, in fact i took him for a walk afterward and he got a cookie for being good on the leash. Im just worried that I could have set his house training back a little altho for now he seems fine

An accident is an accident. Chalk it up as such. And you handled it well too, not the pup's fault that he couldn't hold it any longer.
