New Home for Walter

I have a 3 year old lab/husky mix that I would like to find a new home for (in Ottawa). I don't want to offer him to just anyone - only to true dog lovers that have had experience with other dogs. Any suggestions for where I may look for a new owner? I'm looking to move him as I would like him to have more outdoor/running/playing time than I am able to give him. Is it best to just advertise? Contact my vet? Are there any clubs/associations I can contact? Can I post an add in this forum?
Thanks!

Are you re-homing him just because you feel he needs more excercise??

Make sure if you advertise that you ask an adoption fee.

Is he neutered? up to date on shots? trained? any issues with separation, agression, etc?

These are all things people are going to want to know.

Reason for Rehoming

Yes - I am rehoming him because although I used to be able to take him for long walks and play time, I am no longer able to on a regular basis. Sometimes he goes days without a walk - although he does spend time in the backyard on those days. I feel that he is not as happy as he used to be and that he would be much happier with someone who can go to the dog park more frequently and he would be a great dog for that person. He is a wonderful dog - very friendly and gentle. I'm not able to provide him with the attention he deserves.

He was three in October- he is up to date on his shots (will be due March 24th) and neutered. He had puppy training - can sit, stay, lay down, speak, comes when called. He loves people and would have no trouble adjusting to a new home - he practically leaves with each person who comes to our home.

Here is a pic taken when he was one. He is slightly larger but pretty much the same in looks.

I'm glad you're not giving him to just anyone - terrible things happen to animals given Free to a Good Home

If you are really sure you can't keep him, then take a LOT of time to find a perfect home, where he wont' be given up again, abused, chained outdoors, dumped in a shelter or sold to a laboratory.

If you need help with an adoption contract or application or what questions to ask people, let me know and I can send you some stuff. Please ask an adoption fee of at least 200$

The fact that he looks like a Lab is a help.
