~Fiona~ Shetland Sheepdog X, Montreal, Qc

Meet Fiona :cloud9:. She's approximately 4 years old and the sweetest girl ever :lovestruck:. She was found as a stray and never reclaimed by her owners at the pound although she's safe in a wonderful foster home now. Fiona walks wonderfully on leash, is super gentle, great in the car, and adores getting lovings from everyone she meets. Good with dogs but unknown with cats at the moment.

Lp do you know if Rosies allows adoptions outside of Montreal? are potential adopters from Ontario refused?

No its not for me :D but It would be good to know as some rescues or shelters will not adopt outside of their areas because they are unable to do things like home visits etc..

If the match is perfect, we would find a way to do home visits and do rigorous reference checks, even if the family is in Ontario. It all depends on the individual circumstances but it's certainly possible.

She's very pretty LP, such silky fur :cloud9:......She looks like she has Border Collie in her....smart as a whip.

I sort of see the resemblance to a BC but she's only a chunky 19lbs :D. She's much smaller than what she looks like in the photos.

I have a friend who is thisclose to filling out an application for Fiona! She will have the best home ever! My friend just recently lost her older collie mix (who, coincidently was named Fiona) and has another older dog.

She looks like a pure Sheltie to me, what they call a Bi-Black. (black and white). You can also get Bi-Blues - self explanatory. If she IS pure bred, she should be just great with cats. If I lived there I would adopt her in a heart beat.

Hi all! Just an update on Fiona! She is thriving in her new home with my friend! she goes for walks in the woods everyday..for the first week she was very quiet and looked kind of "stunned"! LOL! Today i walked with them and she was partying hard! Running, playing, greeting all the other dogs and people, accepting cookies, happy as a clam! I think she may have a little crush on my shih tzu..she was really showing off for him!:lovestruck: she is a real sweetheart!

hezbglad, is the other "older" dog named Bailey???? Is that the Fiona who passed???? From Angell woods????

Yes Diane, it was Elizabeth who adopted the new fiona. (she is keeping her name too..) The old Fiona passed quite suddenly, Bailey is still going strong though! You are right, Fiona will be living in the lap of luxury!!
