Looking for a soft coated wheaton terrieredit September 10th, 2004, 02:22 PM My husband & I are looking for a young (max. 2 years old) soft coated wheaton (middle size) to adopt. We live in to Greater Toronto Area. Thanks! diandpat September 10th, 2004, 03:15 PM :) There is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Rescue Group on Yahoo and just recently there was one up for adoption in Ste Catherines. Perhaps you could check there. This lady, Wendy, runs it and seems to know where they all are. Let me know if/when you get one. They are the bomb!!! :p edit September 11th, 2004, 04:14 PM I went on Yahoo to look for it but this was the only thing I could find: Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Rescue Judy Hodgkins 705-277-1423 At least I can start somewhere...! Great help! I'll let you know for sure as soon as we found one! :) diandpat September 11th, 2004, 04:30 PM www.wheatenterrierrescue.org Join the group and go on the Adoptions page. There is also an adoption application that you could fill out. They have some really really cute ones. PM me if you need any help. di :p edit September 11th, 2004, 05:27 PM They are adorable! Thanks for the help Di! I'll let you know...! Luba September 11th, 2004, 06:50 PM You can also check out www.petfinder.com :D edit September 12th, 2004, 02:59 PM Thanks Luba! Already tried but there was none in Canada... I keep checking though, I found that website very useful / informative. Luba September 12th, 2004, 06:47 PM Look what I found for you :D http://www.geocities.com/annandpetew/Gillis.jpg http://www.geocities.com/annandpetew/adoption.htm Gillis Gillis is a young senior neutered male Wheaten Terrier/Lhasa Apso as far as we can tell. In any event he is non-shedding and his coat requires clipping to keep Gillis looking as handsome as he is in his picture. This appealing boy is smaller than a wheaten and larger than a Lhasa and a tad over-weight at present. No doubt regular walkies, which he enjoys, will take care of that problem. Gillis is a friendly guy but his is the low key approach. He will leave it to the younger furry fools to hurl themselves in glee at their family members and run in dizzying circles around the house. He expresses himself with a quiet nuzzle, a wagging tail and big brown eyes. Easy to be with, a wonderful undemanding companion. wAggie September 20th, 2004, 11:56 PM OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG this one looks like buh-bah!!!!! www.wheatenterrierrescue.org/Gage/4GAGE.GIF diandpat November 6th, 2004, 09:11 AM Edit Did you ever find a dog? Are you still looking? If you found one, we would love to see pictures. di, ginger, & hobo SarahJane November 10th, 2004, 07:25 PM I grew up with wheatens, they're such great dogs! My mom and dad still have a great girl - Poppy, six years old. Here's her dogster link! http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=47803&j=t Warning: Wheaties definitely have an independent streak (like all terriers), but they are still very lovable!! If you are looking for a velcro dog though, look elsewhere. And they are high energy - they need lots of exercise! Good luck! :) kimc November 11th, 2004, 12:39 AM I'm not sure if you can travel but this one is about 5hrs from St. Catharines.
