Frenchy December 13th, 2009, 12:17 PM Leia and Churchill are looking for new families. They don't have to be adopted together. I know these dogs and was very sad to see that they had been left at the shelter.
Leia is about 4 yr old , spayed female GSD , needs an active family , someone that would do basic training with her has she never had any . She is a very friendly loving girl who needs exercise and deserves lots of love.
Churchill is about 6 yr old , neutered male Great Pyrenee , very loving , sweet and calm dog. Would like to find him a nice family in the country with a big yard.
Both are good with cats and dogs , both have already been rehome twice , this is it , they need to found their forever family. They were also kept outside  no more ! They need to live inside with their family !!!
If you know of a good family for either of these dogs , please pm me. Like I said , I know these dogs , they are both very good doggies. A few years ago , I tried to get Churchill from his owner , to adopt him myself. now with 4 dogs here .... I just can't

well good news folks ! Last week , we found the perfect family for Leia , in Ontario. But we were unable to get transport for her before x-mas.
So , Leia is on her way right now , to her forever home  Benmax had to go near the Ontario border today so was picking Leia at the shelter and meeting other volunteers who would drive Leia closer to her new family.
Thank you again BenMax to have spread the word about Leia , and help with transport :2huggers:

BenMax December 31st, 2009, 09:54 AM Well, it was an interesting trip. The transport leg was filled with miscommunication but after a few hours :frustrated: of finally connecting - Leia was on her way to her new home.
I must say that she is an amazing girl. Not at all like most sheppies I transport. She was trusting, calm and a sheer delight. What a wonderful loving girl.
So I have had word that Leia is on a 100 acres farm by which 2 acres are fenced. She has adjusted amazingly well, and loves her new people...and they love her. She goes on daily outings with the family on their property, ignors the cat who is very disturbed that he is not 'loved' and has focused on her new people and not the farm animals. She loves playing with her ball and accompanies her new people everywhere.
Leia could not find a better home. She is loved and has filled a void due to the passing of their GSD in November.
All is well for Leia.......she is home.:)

That is great news!
BenMax December 31st, 2009, 10:31 AM That is great news!
It certainly is. Leia was so lucky as so many GSDs are not usually requested. There are so many here and getting a rescue to take is a task and a half. I could not be happier for her. And just to mention, those pictures do not do her justice. She is absolutely stunning. She was also very well treated from wherever she came from. No signs of abuse, very well balanced and no temperment problems whatsoever. She was a total delight.:thumbs up
Chaser December 31st, 2009, 11:09 AM I'm always so happy to see a GSD find a great Forever Family :lovestruck:

Told you so :cloud9:
It was a perfect match for this family and Leia , she's use to follow her humans everywhere and never strays , loves being outside .... I hear about the poor kitty too  all he wants if to be friends with her but Leia is totally ignoring him
thanks again for giving Leia a ride BM !!
BenMax December 31st, 2009, 03:46 PM Frenchy - everything happens for a reason. If not for you - these dogs may have been homeless for a long time. So glad that everything worked out well for both of them....
More to go however, but with collective efforts, anything is possible.
