Shaky, unbalanced, uncoordinated puppy

Hello,

My puppy is a 6 month old female Morkie. She was the runt of the litter. She has been starting to have 'episodes' where her head will jiggle from side to side and she will fall over and not be able to walk where she wants to go. Her eyes seem unfocused and she appears to be spaced out. These can last from one hour to the whole day. They happen randomly, but appear to be more frequent now.
The vet tested her for a liver shunt but her liver bile test was at a 20. Her potassium was elevated on the multiple times we brought her to the vet. But the vet was never able to really tell us anything.

I am wondering if anyone has any advice.

What you are describing appears to be consistent with a neurologic problem. A veterinary neurologist evaluation would be helpful. If you can video tape an 'episode' for the neurologist to see, that would also help them. The things that I would think of would be congenital/developmental, infectious (bacterial, viral, fungal), infammatory, toxic or metabolic. It may be just affecting the motor coordination or it may even be an underlying local seizure disorder.

I hope this helps. Wish I could give you more specific information. :pawprint:

**Sigh** This is why we shouldnt support BYB's and puppymills by buying "designer" dogs.

I wish you and your dog the best of luck.
