Frenchy September 15th, 2007, 01:40 PM Ben is looking for a new family after being abandonned by the side of the road. He is a neutered male , between 8 and 10. He does have difficulty to get back up and go up stairs , he is getting better at it. But has no problem walking and even started running after the ball , always asking me to throw it for him. He is a typical golden : extremely loving , always happy and ... food motivated  he is great with cats and dogs. He will be going to the vet next week for lump check and x-rays so we will know more about his condition.
He had to be shaved due to having been neglected , either way , he's the cutest thing , looks just like a puppy , don't you think ? :lovestruck:
chico2 September 15th, 2007, 04:13 PM OMG Frenchy is he ever sweet,what a face...what I feel about people like that,cannot be printed:evil:
clm September 15th, 2007, 08:44 PM He's adorable Frenchy. I hope he makes out fine at the vet :fingerscr
Cindy
Frenchy September 16th, 2007, 09:15 AM Thanks Chico2 and CLM , he is too cute ! :cloud9: and adorable , and goofy , and loving and cudly and playfull .... ok I'll stop now ! :p
badger September 16th, 2007, 10:55 AM Who could drive away from that sweet face? :fingerscr for Ben.
JanM September 16th, 2007, 12:44 PM So sweet looking - I do hope he finds his home soon...
rainbow September 16th, 2007, 01:15 PM Awwww....look at that face. :cloud9: He certainly doesn't look his age. :lovestruck: I hope Karma bites his owners in the butt. GOOD LUCK BEN !!! :fingerscr :fingerscr :goodvibes: :goodvibes:
Frenchy September 20th, 2007, 08:09 PM Ben spent the day at the vet and we were all surprise by the results . All the staff tought something was wrong with Ben's hips. But no !!! Everything is fine ! They did x-rays and didn't see anything wrong . Ben simply has no muscles in his hind legs , we think maybe because he could have been tied up in a backyard all his life. So he needs exercise , small amount at a time. And his lumps , all fatty ones !!! So only good news for Ben today !
hazelrunpack September 20th, 2007, 08:18 PM Well how cool is that?! :highfive: Yay, Ben! WoooHoooo!!!!!
Oh...sorry....I guess I was supposed to say "Well how keee-ewwllll is that?!" to be really 'with it' and 'hip'
But what absolutely wonderful news! :thumbs up :grouphug:
otter September 20th, 2007, 09:18 PM Yeah! for Ben, congrats on the clean bill of health:thumbs up. (and yipee for you too Frenchy, the curse has been lifted:fingerscr)
growler~GateKeeper September 21st, 2007, 01:49 AM Alriiiiiight!! Good job Ben - now all we need is good news in finding a fabulous :cloud9: home for you (after many muscle building walkies :D) <- Jiorji gotta a job for you :D
Frenchy September 27th, 2007, 08:38 PM bump bump , Ben is officialy up for adoption (he will be on our website soon : www.goldenrescuequebec.com ) and he's doing better and better. He doesn't need my help anymore to come up the 3 stairs from the solarium , he rarely needs my help to get up when on slippery floors (ceramic) and he is 100% on carpet or grass. :thumbs up
He wants to play more and more outside , fetch his ball / Cuz like any other dog :thumbs up even tries to catch Nelly , but she runs a bit too fast for him :D but he looooves steeling her Cuz , when left unattended for a few seconds. He is too funny , a real sweetheart. :lovestruck:
If you know anyone who doesn't want to adopt a puppy , but would like to give a good retirement home for this guy , take small evening walks , please contact me.
otter September 27th, 2007, 08:41 PM Yea! Ben. Someone out there is looking for a guy just like you, here's hoping they find you soon:fingerscr:goodvibes:
coppperbelle September 27th, 2007, 09:30 PM That is excellent news about Ben. I really didn't think he had much of a future because he had so much trouble walking. I can attest to the fact that he is a real sweetheart and has such a funny character. For an old guy he still loves to play with toys. When he was here he would empty the toy basket everyday. He especially loves balls and will play fetch all by himself. He throws it and then goes and retrieves it, too funny.
rainbow September 27th, 2007, 11:47 PM I missed the update on Bens vet checkup :o but, WOO HOO for the results. :highfive: There has to be someone out there that would love to have him join their family. :fingerscr :goodvibes:
Rottielover September 28th, 2007, 06:05 AM I have to say, I was really lucky to have met this handsome fello.
Age, what age, this dog has more energy than my lazy Harley.
He is the sweetest little guy, with lots of love to give.
Frenchy, you have done a great job with him, regaining his stamina, and it greatly shows.
I hope he finds his forever home soon, such a doll. :)

Oh, gee - only 6 hours away... well, the ocean is about 6 minutes away for me (driving) and one forest walk is about 10 minutes away - walking... and, here's the clincher - there are no stoplights downtown :D

otter September 30th, 2007, 11:50 AM JanM, you could pick up Ben and move to Wawa - Molly would love some golden friends, we have Lake Superior (ocean like but NO SALT!), all the forest walks you could dream about right at our door step and NO STOP LIGHTS AT ALL, closest one is 3 hours drive!:thumbs up

Now that sounds like a bit of heaven - BUT - yes, there's a but... salt water is a natural flea deterrant AND - you get the dreaded white stuff - SNOW eeek. :D
otter September 30th, 2007, 12:57 PM Hmmmm, fleas not much of a problem if you have chickens (and I can lend you a few) and global warming is taking care of that snow problem:laughing:
:lightbulb:Soooooo, how about we go pick up Ben and deliver him to Ladysmith? I've always loved the west coast!!:D

WOW - what a wonderful idea.... I know they don't ship dogs out of province but, hmmm, pick-up eh.... something to think about for sure :D and now I'll have to think about it until the snow that has fallen in the mountain passes on the mainland has melted! That darn stuff :wall:
rainbow September 30th, 2007, 02:32 PM You better hurry up cuz once the snow hits the mountain passes from Hope and eastward, it doesn't go until spring. :D
otter September 30th, 2007, 04:14 PM I think the snow has already arrived  :thumbs up we've got until spring to work out the logistics:D
Maybe Ben needs to keep looking.....

Frenchy September 30th, 2007, 06:11 PM I think Frenchy attracts amazing dogs... maybe you just need to convince her to move to BC :D
No thanks , already tried that  but if JanM has a car , and she leaves right now to pick up Ben , she will get back to Vancouver before X-mas :D
I already had 2 people inquiring about Ben. Unfortunatly they are not the right families for him , but it always sounds promising when you get people to ask about an oldie ..... one day soon (I hope) it will be Ben's perfect family ! :fingerscr
rainbow September 30th, 2007, 06:13 PM I think Frenchy attracts amazing dogs... maybe you just need to convince her to move to BC :D

Is there anything else you've tried once and didn't like?
JanM September 30th, 2007, 06:48 PM You didn't like BC??? I'll bet you weren't on the Island then - it's a totally different way of life on the Island than on the mainland...
Really, Frenchy, I think you should bring Ben out here and see how you like it... :D
Frenchy September 30th, 2007, 06:56 PM I was living near Kitsalano. People are too nice and relaxed , not used to this. (I grew up in Montreal ) :D

It suits my retired lifestyle for sure!
zelzou October 2nd, 2007, 01:44 PM Where is Ben? I'm in Montreal and looking to adopt.
rainbow October 2nd, 2007, 01:58 PM Frenchy is fostering Ben. She posts here everyday or you could pm her to inquire about filling out an application. Good luck :fingerscr .....Ben sounds like a real sweetheart. :lovestruck:
Frenchy October 2nd, 2007, 07:24 PM Where is Ben? I'm in Montreal and looking to adopt.
Hi zelzou , first of all , welcome to pets.ca and thank you for considering the adoption of an older rescue :thumbs up Unfortunatly , I read that you will be living in an upper duplex. Ben is not good with stairs. He still needs my help sometimes (most of it coaxing on my part and my hand on his behind) to come up the 3 carpeted steps to get in the kitchen. He is getting better but I don't think he would ever be able to go up too many stairs. Please check out our other rescues here :

Frenchy October 4th, 2007, 11:46 AM Ben has been adopted and will be leaving for his forever home this Sunday. His new family adopted 2 goldens from our rescue in the past , Ben will have 5 acres to stretch and build up his muscles :thumbs up and another golden brother. :cloud9:
Like always , I will be sad to see him go  but I'm so happy for him ! :thumbs up
badger October 4th, 2007, 11:52 AM WOOHOO Frenchy, another success story:party::party::party:. It sounds like a wonderful situation.
Rottielover October 4th, 2007, 11:59 AM Way to go Ben, you will have so much fun. And maybe you can have your own personal ball thrower, LOL
Frenchy October 4th, 2007, 12:04 PM Way to go Ben, you will have so much fun. And maybe you can have your own personal ball thrower, LOL
And he won't have competition (like with Nelly) his "brother" has bad hips so Ben will probably be the faster dog.
Winston October 4th, 2007, 12:05 PM Wow! Frenchy! Excellent work! another success story! and another beautiful boy saved! If it were not for dedicated people like yourself there would be no place for boys like Ben! It must give you great happiness to do this type of thing...
Thank you!
Cindy
:thumbs up
Frenchy October 4th, 2007, 12:12 PM Thanks Cindy ! I still can't believe I had 3 very good families interested in him ! Older goldens are so lucky ! I know it's not always that easy for other breeds.
Winston October 4th, 2007, 01:00 PM Maybe you could interest them in another Golden with the rescue? I imagine that would be your first suggestion!
Ford Girl October 4th, 2007, 02:28 PM Way to go Frenchy and Ben!!! Woo Hoo! :highfive:
Jan, if you are going on a road trip, pick me up in Calgary!!! :thumbs up
Right now there are 3 golden's in the Calgary city pound. They look so sad, so lost. Hopefully someone will claim them.
JanM October 4th, 2007, 02:31 PM WOW - that's wonderful for Ben! I am so pleased he will have a wonderful life (even though it won't include the ocean :D)
Ford Girl - since Ben has been adopted, I guess there's just no reason for me to brave the mountain passes, the snow, the cold, the stark prairies, and all that so, no road trip for me for now :laughing:
chico2 October 4th, 2007, 03:56 PM Frenchy, that's great news for Ben and you, could not get any better:thumbs up
What you and your rescue is doing is a wonderful thing, just look at the wonderful life Molly is having and now Ben,great stuff!!!

Are you coming for turkey weekend? What area of the city? They are males, and all very handsom.
My sister went there yesterday to look at huskies they had...she found one at the SPCA, it's on hold for 10 days for it to be claimed by it's owners, so cute. I hope she gets her! :fingerscr
zelzou October 7th, 2007, 08:53 AM I have now adopted a new family member! A Border Collie named Charlie.
He is so beautiful. I adopted him from the SPCA. He's eight years old and apparently quite a bit over weight. But beautiful all the same!
Winston October 7th, 2007, 11:44 AM Way to go! Thank you for considering a rescue! Especially an older one! I bet he is so thankful he found you! Would love to see some pictures??
Cindy
rainbow October 7th, 2007, 02:22 PM WOO HOO for Ben and Frenchy. :highfive:
Frenchy October 12th, 2007, 11:22 AM Due to new developements , Ben is still up for adoption. We have decided that Ben deserved better , a family that would be excited and eager about adopting him , not people who think they're doing US a favor . Ben deserves more than that, Ben deserves as much as a younger dog would. So that's it folks , still looking for a wonderful family for this wonderful boy :cloud9:
otter October 12th, 2007, 11:41 AM Awwwe Ben, someone out there will fall in LOVE with you, just you wait and see.:lovestruck:
Frenchy, please give Ben a big hug from me and one from Molly too! :grouphug::dog:
chico2 October 12th, 2007, 12:06 PM Frenchy, that's too bad,but good you kept him if you had doubts, like you say,Ben deserves to spend the rest of his life in a loving, caring environment.
Is he with you now again??
:pray:that a wonderful person will come along and fall in love with Ben,just the way I would:pray:
Frenchy October 12th, 2007, 12:34 PM Oh yes Ben is still with me , he never left :D I had other people interested about him too , some of them have houses with too many stairs for Ben , but one or 2 might be fine. I'm waiting to hear from them , but I'm in not hurray.
awww Molly hugging Ben :cloud9:
otter October 12th, 2007, 12:40 PM I think Molly is trying to hint that she'd like Ben to come live with us but she's having trouble convincing me that we can deal with two dogs... Besides we have to give someone else a chance to adopt a "Frenchy" dog:D
Frenchy October 12th, 2007, 12:42 PM Besides we have to give someone else a chance to adopt a "Frenchy" dog:D
 and just tell Molly , she would have to share her toys , noooooooo !
chico2 October 12th, 2007, 03:43 PM Awww,Molly and Ben,what a nice couple they would make and with absolutely wonderful owners;)
Frenchy October 12th, 2007, 10:33 PM :pray:that a wonderful person will come along and fall in love with Ben,just the way I would:pray:
You just say the word Chico2 and me and Ben will be at your doorstep :D he is good with cats ..... but I know , your cats are NOT good with dogs , rrreeeerr !
chico2 October 13th, 2007, 07:37 AM Frenchy, yes especially Rocky,he would maul any dog coming in to HIS house:yell:
A question,do most older large dogs end up with hip/leg surgery,it seems so common in this Forum, especially with Goldens:sad:
Frenchy October 13th, 2007, 12:26 PM A question,do most older large dogs end up with hip/leg surgery,it seems so common in this Forum, especially with Goldens:sad:
Some of them yes. But I do know lots of them who never needed surgery. My sister has 2 goldens, one needed surgery on both hind legs , the other dog is ok.
My dogs are older rescues , seeing how neglected they were when I adopted them , it would be a surprise to me to know they had surgery. Daisy didn't have problems , Bailey is ok too. Sam , my guess is lack of exercise in his past life and too much food (probably crappy one) Ben , this is more than just lack of exercise , it really looks like he was tied up somewhere on a very short rope , his hind legs are tiny and like jello. But his muscles are coming back , he doesn't need my help anymore to get back up or to get up the few stairs in my house. :thumbs up
chico2 October 13th, 2007, 03:46 PM Thank's Frenchy,it just seems sooo many have to have surgery,a Newfie/LabX up the street from me just had his hip-surgery,it seems like such a terrible ordeal, both for the pup and the owner, but of course if it's needed, there is no other choice.
Poor Ben,imagine someone tying up this beautiful dog,or any dog for that matter,a long lead is probably ok,but on a short leash,so sad...Ben is happy now though, could not be in a better place:thumbs up
Frenchy November 6th, 2007, 12:34 PM bump bump , Ben is still looking for his forever family. :goodvibes:
anyone ?
anyone ?
coppperbelle November 6th, 2007, 08:11 PM You had so many inquiries for him and then nothing.
Frenchy November 6th, 2007, 09:34 PM You had so many inquiries for him and then nothing.

:fingerscr :fingerscr :goodvibes: :goodvibes: for Ben.
Frenchy November 7th, 2007, 09:24 PM Just a reminder on how cute Ben is , I have better doggy beds than this one (it's an old one + a comforter on top) but he likes it better than the other ones ! and now that I'm using the fireplace again , he seems to like being near it. :cloud9:
The ideal home for Ben would be retired people who likes to take small walks outside. And even if they have slippery floors , they can always buy runners :thumbs up
Oh and his fur is growing back ...
TeriM November 8th, 2007, 02:05 AM Awww, Ben looks so cute in those pics :cloud9:. He would be such a wonderful addition to a loving home.

Frenchy November 8th, 2007, 12:32 PM How about a trade??3 cats for 1 Golden??(just kidding!)
clm November 8th, 2007, 03:27 PM Oh Chico2, you with an older goldie....now that's a good match.
Isn't it Chico who flips out about other animals though? Maybe he really likes dogs....you should try bringing an older dog in the house and see how your kitties react. They may surprise you. My cats always liked my older dogs. It's the puppies they can't stand.
Cindy
chico2 November 8th, 2007, 04:36 PM clm,no,it's Rocky and he flips right at me,I have many battlescars to prove it:cat:
We are just too comfortable and old(er) now to upset the applecart,a little bit of making Bailey happy every day,is probably all we can handle:cat::dog:
Ford Girl November 9th, 2007, 05:57 PM Would you, could you, ship him to New Brunswick?
Frenchy November 9th, 2007, 11:40 PM Would you, could you, ship him to New Brunswick?
We never ever ship dogs. But for the right family (the right one) we MAY arrange transport IF we find people that we know and trust who would..... but it's really not an ideal situation.
Ford Girl November 13th, 2007, 01:56 PM By ship, I meant transport...sorry, wrong use of words, ok, was just wondering. My inlaws are retired and dog lovers, and when they came to Calgary for 2 weeks, they fell in love with Dazy and the breed. We had talked to them about adopting a senior golden, one with a bit less energy then Dazy. Thought I'd ask before I asked them if they were interested.
Good luck to you and Ben!!! :fingerscr :fingerscr :fingerscr
Tommysmom November 13th, 2007, 06:01 PM Is there any chance he could ever regain enough muscle tone to do stairs?
My mom would be perfect with a senior golden, she's home all day long and has a large yard. I mentioned it to her a while back, showed her some of the stories on here, she fell in love. Her house has stairs though, lots of them:sad:.
Frenchy November 13th, 2007, 10:12 PM Is there any chance he could ever regain enough muscle tone to do stairs?
Maybe , but carpeted stairs only. He is scared of them , he is scared on slippery floors. I think his past life might no had been too good. I don't think he was abused , but I do believe he must had been pushed around because he was too slow or unsteady , making him fall. When he's outside , I can tell he feels so much better ! We never know what the future holds for him :goodvibes:
12Paws November 14th, 2007, 10:46 AM He is beautiful. I hope he finds that perfect home for him soon.

Frenchy November 16th, 2007, 08:43 PM Any luck Frenchy, for your beautiful Benny? Too bad you don't live closer, Chloe needs a father figure :D
Funny you should ask , I just got an e-mail from someone asking about him :D we'll see.....
shredy November 16th, 2007, 08:46 PM :fingerscr:fingerscr:fingerscr That this is his new family!! Let me ask you though, after having him for so long, are you really going to be able to see him go??
Frenchy November 16th, 2007, 08:58 PM I would love to keep him , but if i do , I wouldn't be able to foster anymore. 4 dogs under my care is enough for me :D I am not getting too excited about the e-mail for him tough. So many people contacted me for him , but there's always something , either they find him too old , or , after I explained about him and stairs / slippery floors , they are not interested anymore. But we never know ...... we may find the perfect family for him , and he may stay here.
Winston November 16th, 2007, 09:12 PM Frenchy..my girlfriend who is involved GSD rescue here always has 4 dogs..just like yourself....3 out of the 4 they have kept.....One of them is a golden named Briar! he is the sweetest dog....Well anyway, I showed her Ben and her heart melted...she thought he would be great around Briar because Ben is older and so is Briar but she said the exact same thing...she wouldnt be able to help out amymore as she would have a full house!! She has had some amazing fosters over the years...Briar was to be a seeing eye dog but he failed because he ended up having cataracts so they returned him to her because she origionally trained him....Plus she has a few stairs and some slippery floors..Someone will come along for Ben I just know it!!
Cindy
Frenchy November 16th, 2007, 09:30 PM Thanks Winston , I do hope we find the right family , the longer he's here , the more I get attach. It gets hard sometimes. :o But he will stay as long as he needs to.
TeriM November 16th, 2007, 10:32 PM Maybe , but carpeted stairs only. He is scared of them , he is scared on slippery floors. I think his past life might no had been too good. We never know what the future holds for him :goodvibes:
Awww, poor Ben . I am so happy he found such a great foster mom and I'm sure his new forever home will find him soon :goodvibes:.

Frenchy December 24th, 2007, 09:47 AM It's time for x-mas parties and family gatherings so I'm hoping you guys could keep your ears open , we never know , maybe you'll hear about someone looking to adopt a wonderful golden oldie ! :fingerscr
SARAH December 24th, 2007, 11:46 AM He is just so cute, I love his face! And not overweight like so many older Goldens (and Labs too) - it's their food-motivation I guess. Benji, you'll get a home, I just know it! And I can't understand how ANYONE would leave him at the side of the road:frustrated: criminals! :yell:
Frenchy December 24th, 2007, 11:56 AM He is just so cute, I love his face!
Yep , puppy face on a mature dog body , one who doesn't need training , one who only wants to cuddle with you and please you. :cloud9:
rainbow December 24th, 2007, 02:15 PM It's hard to believe that Ben hasn't found a home yet......how can anyone resist that adorable face? :cloud9: I hope he finds a forever home soon. :fingerscr :goodvibes: :goodvibes:
Frenchy January 3rd, 2008, 09:35 PM I sometimes get 1-2 inquiries for Ben , per week. But it's never the right family for him. Until tonight .... OMG ! Please , we need all the :goodvibes: we can get ! This couple only rescue older dogs , huge fenced yard in the country , huge house with mostly carpet , even carpeted stairs !!! Dog walker to take them out at lunch. The best thing about it , they know another volunteer from our rescue , who's a vet tech. I called her and she confirmed everything. :thumbs up Now I have to find time to go do a visit with Ben , it's 2 hours from my place , will try to go this week end.
I am so happy :D This is more than I ever asked for.

As long as they don't change their minds :D I will send them pictures of Ben in the mean time. They really are the perfect family for him. I really don't mind having him one more week , it's been 4 months now , my record time without adopting myself  he's so adorable , but I can't have 4 dogs and don't want to stop fostering. I wouldn't be able to do so with 4 dogs. I feel very comfortable letting them adopt him , I'm very happy for Ben.
JanM January 5th, 2008, 07:35 PM Congratulations to you, to Ben and to his new family! Everything sounds so good for him ... great news!
rainbow January 5th, 2008, 07:53 PM As long as they don't change their minds :D

Frenchy January 5th, 2008, 08:19 PM I didn't ask why they couldn't come tomorrow. They have days off this week and wanted to do this a week day , but I will be at work. and they live too far to come in the evenings.

http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i228/sevenzworld/dance.gif
Found a new poem for you Frenchy...when I read it I thought of you...
Here in this House....
*
I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out
there'.
I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed.
I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat.
I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat.
I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness,
and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose.
My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.
Here in this house...
There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand,
I can enjoy the warmth of the words.
I will be given a name so that I may know who I am among many.
My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!
Here in this house...
I will never be a substitute for anything I am not.
I will never be used to improve peoples' images of themselves.
I will be loved because I am who I am, not someone's idea of who I should
be.
I will never suffer for someone's anger, impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all.
If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.
Here in this house...
I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch...
knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me;
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed.
If sad, I will be cheered.
No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and thought to be
of value.
I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill, too unruly, or not
cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.
I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes, be as kind and as fair as
dogs.
*
Here in this house...
I will belong.*
* I will be home. *
chico2 January 8th, 2008, 08:14 AM That was beautiful Shaykeija..I wish all pets could say that:pray:
hazelrunpack January 8th, 2008, 09:59 AM I agree Chico--that really is beautiful, Shaykeija! :cloud9:
SARAH January 8th, 2008, 10:23 AM Absolutely, all pets should be able to say that. They have a right to say that. The very idea that they are a PET means someone once picked them to love them, and they had no right to betray that love. Yet the shelters are full and there are still discarded pets roaming lost and confused
14+kitties January 8th, 2008, 10:25 AM I gotta agree! It made me cry. Do you know who the author is, Shaykeija? It would be nice if they got credit for this.
I kinda switched the "dog" to my kitties :o but it works the same. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Frenchy January 8th, 2008, 12:15 PM omg Shaykeija , I love it ! I just printed it. And now I just want to run home and hug them all ! I specially like this part :
There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand,
I can enjoy the warmth of the words
Because I keep explaining to Ben he'll be moving into his new home , with his new family very soon. I want him to understand I am not abandonning him, I'm just doing my job. I do hope he understands.
Thank you for posting it Shaykeija ! :grouphug:

14+kitties January 8th, 2008, 02:30 PM I am seriously considering woodburning the poem and posting it on my catuary door so when people ask what the H:censored: I am doing with this many kitties I can point them to the poem. Same thing they always do when a foster leaves : sleep. I never know if it's because they're sad or relieved there's one less dog in the house.

He's going to love it there! You did good, Frenchy! :grouphug:
Boubou January 13th, 2008, 10:46 PM Oh Frenchy, I'm so happy that you found the perfect home for Ben. It's so hard to find good homes for younger dogs, never mind the seniors! But you did it....way to go! And thank you to these wonderful people that open their homes and hearts to adopting older dogs!!:lovestruck:
Love4himies January 14th, 2008, 12:51 PM :sorry:I miss everything, sorry I am posting so late, Frenchy.
Wahoo for Ben, sounds like he is going to a wonderful retirement home, pool and all. I know how hard it is to say goodbye :grouphug: to you.

I don't remember which foster but one time , the new family sent me an update the next day , they told me the dog got up on their bed and slept there (it was ok with the new family) I couldn't believe it because the foster spend 1-2 months at my place and never got on MY bed !
Ummm, was there even room on your bed for that dog??

I know you are tiny, I was thinking more of the number of furry bodies on the bed, I've seen pictures of your bed, there is hardly enough room for you!
