my dog, jack was neutered almost three weeks ago. Jack is a six month old shih-a-poo. Recently I've noticed two things that have disturbed me, though i'm hoping that they are normal and not cause for concern. First ever since the surgery Jack has developed a limp from his front left paw. It seems to be getting worse each day, and i plan to consult my vet about it anyway. The other is in his testicular area. I've noticed that when he has been resting for awhile, two rock hard little balls form just below is penis. After he has been up and walking around a bit they dissappear. It just doesn't look normal, but i don't want to be one of those owners that frets about everything. Anyone know what could be going on?

Hi, Jeremy. Welcome to the board!

The limp is not a normal outcome of neutering. Definitely consult your vet about it. Don't wait too long--some orthopedic injuries don't heal as well if left too long; besides which, he must be uncomfortable if he's limping.

The rock-hard lumps--are they along the shaft? That's pretty normal for a male dog. There are two glands there. If in doubt at all, though, ask your vet about them when you take Jack in to have his leg checked.

I hope all turns out well! :fingerscr Please keep us posted...

Oh, and when you get time, we'd love to see pics of Jack! :thumbs up

As Hazel said, the lumps are normal but the limping isn't. How is Jack doing and what did the vet say? :fingerscr
