Odd Man Out

I have 2, 5 months old english mastiffs and just got a new 10 week old puppy who has been diagnosed with coccidio, she has been prescribed medication and seems like a normal happy puppy. She has been on meds for 3 days and quarantined since she got here four days ago. My question is how long should i keep her quarantine from the others.

Definitely ask your vet how long coccidia can remain in the stool and contageous, then follow those directions...you don't want to risk spreading it around, it's really yucky and very contageous!

I know we've had a few outbreaks of coccidia here--but I'm too tired to recall how long we had to quarantine them... :frustrated: Your vet will be able to tell you for sure, though. I'm pretty sure that it'll take longer than 3 days to make your new little one un-contagious.

Meanwhile, I hope you figure out the picture thing quickly :fingerscr , cuz we're all dying to see your crew!

these are pics of my crew, three english mastiffs. Odin(fawn color), isis(brindle), and vara(reverse brindle) Odin and Isis are brother and sister and are 18 weeks old and vara is our newest at 11 weeks old.

i will keep posting as they grow. Isis may look black but she has many stripes, these pics dont do her justice. And to go along with my 3 monsters i have 3 kids as well, ages 2, 4, and 5.
