Colossal Cat comes with Princely Price TagCathy1 June 1st, 2007, 04:47 PM $22,000  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18965940?GT1=10056 erykah1310 June 1st, 2007, 04:59 PM My gawd people are absolutely stupid. I mean there are children dying in other countries ( as well as our own), there are thousands of pets dying in shelters, but lets make even a bigger buck and sell big cats! And the fools that pay for them are no better. I hate our world. mummummum June 1st, 2007, 05:01 PM A BYB'er of "Lifestyle Pets" :yuck:  :yell: :frustrated: ...but hey, they'll only sell 100 of them per year ~ now that makes them caring and responsible. CyberKitten June 1st, 2007, 07:25 PM My God, that's ridiculous!! My neighbours once had a 32 lb kitty but he was overweight!! A cute moogie too - from the local shelter for maybe $40 or so! He prob ate too much Fancy Feast tho, lol Just what we need - more designer anything!! Ugh! Aimster June 1st, 2007, 07:49 PM I'm ashamed to admit it but I would love to have a cat like that. I disagree with the price tag and the means in which this cat was produced but I think it's amazing in a way :o Love4himies June 4th, 2007, 07:49 AM I feel the same way, Aimster, :o , I think it is a beautiful cat, but also feel that the money could go to better use too. Kristin7 June 4th, 2007, 07:21 PM First, I think this company must have changed its name, Allerca was marketing a breed they called the Ashera (this is the same company creating so called hypoallergenic cats). They did get some bad press, so maybe that's why. Also, according to this article, the breed (really a Serval hybrid) may already exist, it's called the Savannah. The price should not be that high, that's ridiculous! And even if they sell 100 a year at this price, how are they making money? That's really not that much to support a business on, or maybe they are making a killing with the hypoallergenic cats. Or maybe it is a small company... http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/business/20061025-9999-1b25ashera.html info on Savannahs, which are much less $$$, but still a lot ($3000-6000): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savannah_(cat) they are very striking cats, though. |
