hi

i have a 4 year old tabby cat who has been having urine problems for the past 4 months. He has been brought to the Vet several times, my family has been told he has a small penis hole, and has crystals. Just recently he had surgery where the vet found 3 stones. He's been on and off of antibiotics. And tonight i noticed him going back and forth to his little box, and i checked on him and i noticed blood coming out. He came out and went sit on the floor, when he got up i noticed dark red blood on the floor as well as everywhere he walked. It seemed to just keep coming out like a fountain. Tomorrow is Memorial Day so our vet's office is closed. Please if anyone has anymore information that i might not know about please reply to this.

Thanks a bunch!

i don't know much about kidney stones let alone in males(humans). But i think that it is possible to have blood when trying to pass them. If he has a small urinary (sp?) opening, it sounds logical for the stones to be causing bleeding. i'm no dr, of course, but i'd say call ur vet on tuesday and have him looked at, i'm sure they can find a way to amke him pass the stones in a not so.... bloody way :grouphug:

You have to get your cat help immediately. Look for a 24-hour vet, even if not your regular vet. By the way, the rules for this board is that no response will be given if your pet is bleeding, because this is obviously a dire medical emergency, and you need to get help right away. Since you are new (I am too), I thought I would mention it again. This is what the Announcement (from Marko, Administrator on this Board) "To New Members with Sick Pets" says:

PLEASE PLEASE.

Do not post questions that require immediate veterinary care.

If your pet is seriously ill, bleeding, can't move, hasn't pooped or peed in a couple of days, has green mucus coming out of the nose or eyes, hasn't eaten or drank in a few days, is pooping blood, is coughing blood, has a bloated tummy, cries when touched or picked up.....Then please take the poor animal to the VETS ASAP.......Do not waste time posting here, your pet needs to be seen by a real live veterinarian immediately.

If you cannot afford vet care, check to see if your vet or another vet can take payments, or check to see if any veterinary school or college facility can help.
