is it common for a vet to mistake a stone large enough to completely block a cat urethra? there was a bright white spot in the xray when my dad went to pick up my mr.jingles after being catheterized and a day and half later we ended up having to put him down because they couldnt catheterize him again and the surgeries to remove the stone would pose more complications then help and also his bladder distended to the size of grapefruit so the vet said he might not be able to pee. is it common for vets to mistake stones int he bladder for crystals?

Hi soccerbabi,
i am sorry for your loss of Mr J.
Vets certainly do make mistakes. Speak to your vet or write and ventilate your concerns. I have found this very effective for relieving your frustration with the issue and can often lead to a large reduction in the vet bill, especially if the vet did make a mistake.
