Well Motzi has a tape worm. No shock there really. We decided to treat all the dogs..just in case. You know how dogs like to sniff each other.

She put her on Droncit 50mg.

Poor girl had the anal glands done. Breaks my heart listening to her cause that has to hurt :(

It is possible the tapeworm is from when she was a pup. Which just gets me mad all over again about the conditions she was in. 4 yrs later she still has the effects of the abuse GRRRRRRRR!

The Droncit should take care of it 100% ... I know cats at least can get it from eating rodents or coming in contact with mouse poop & such. I've never had a dog with tapeworms though...

I hope she gets feeling better soon, I'm sure glad we humans don't need to get our anal glands expressed!

Dogs and cats can get tapeworms in lots of ways - ingesting fleas, or as Carina said - from eating dead wild animals.

Tapeworms just seem to be a fact of life when you have pets!

Glad you have your tapeworm problem taken care of, you must feel much better.
But tapeworms don't indicate abuse! like LR said its just a fact of life when owning pets, just like fleas.
