MIA November 28th, 2005, 10:46 PM Samantha and Jeffery
This little duo was sadly dumped not once but twice! These two are mother and son, the owner tried to take them to the shelter but instead gave them to a man in the parking lot!!!!! Well that man decided to move and these poor two were left at the shelter.... Thankfully they called us and we have them in a cozy foster home.
Samantha is 15 and is mother to Jeffery, 13. They are very spry and have lots of MinPin energy to share! They are both house trained, good on leash, love the care and debarked (we didn't do that). Samantha is a little shy with new people but warms up very quickly and Jeffery, well he's a social butterfly! Sam's eyesight isn't what it used to be but she's fine, she toodles around no problem. Both of them are a little hard of hearing but then again that could be the infamous 'MinPin hearing'. They both get along with dogs and cats, we don't know about young kids, apparently they lived with some older kids. They love to cuddle and be under the blankets.
They are very bonded and will only be placed together. They are in good health and would love to have a home to call their own.

Prin November 29th, 2005, 12:09 AM 13 and 15!! I'm outraged. People suck. I sincerely hope these two get the home they really deserve. :fingerscr :fingerscr Poor doggies.
meb999 November 29th, 2005, 06:14 PM I agree with Prin !!! PEOPLE SUCK!! I hope these guys find a SUPERSTAR home and get all the love they've been missing their whole lives...
MIA November 30th, 2005, 01:25 PM Don't even get me started!!!! These two have got to be the nicest MinPins I've rescued in a long time... Sad part is people are turned of by their age, and they aren't really old!!! They have tons of zip left!!! Hopefully a wonderful person will come along..... They deserve a good home.
Lucky Rescue November 30th, 2005, 02:23 PM Many people don't know these tiny dogs can live for 17 or more years. I knew of a toy poodle who was 21!
People look at the age and see vet bills adding up, and heartache all too soon. I"m sure they'll touch someone's heart and the right home will come along for them.
And for the person who disposed of these old dogs this way, I wish him bad luck and all things horrible until the day he dies.
Shamrock November 30th, 2005, 05:19 PM Oh... how could they? People are so... heartless!
A lifetime of love and devotion... to be given away in a parking lot to a stranger.
tWhat sweet little dogs.. bless their hearts. I'm sure they will find a new and loving home to enjoy their golden years, and may there be many ahead for these lovely dogs.
How I wish I could take them...I'd do it in a heartbeat.
MIA January 29th, 2006, 10:30 PM Just wanted to update you all, these two darlings were adopted together and are spoiled rotten in thier new home! Bless those who love the oldies....
Prin January 29th, 2006, 10:38 PM YEY!!! I thought this was a new post with the same old dogs until I saw the old date in November... I'm so glad for these two.:)
BMDLuver January 30th, 2006, 08:27 AM That's awesome news Mia! The oldies Rock!
myst May 9th, 2006, 08:34 PM just wondering how these two are doing. I hate to see that some people will rid of 'wise and mature' [not older] dogs.
MIA May 9th, 2006, 11:12 PM They are doing great, having a few potty issues but the owner is working on that, she was giving them a little too much freedom... MinPins are bad enough but old MinPins are harder!!! :thumbs up
Lucky Rescue May 10th, 2006, 08:48 AM Well, the good part is that the accidents are little ones! Could be a lot worse if they were mastiffs.:p
Glad to hear these babies are doing well.:thumbs up
mafiaprincess May 12th, 2006, 12:30 AM I'm happy with 23 pound dog pee accidents.. I hear about some of my friends with big big dogs and cringe...
If the sound of running water makes you jump up and yell, "OUTSIDE! "Your dog is a Giant breed . . .
Heck, my 23 pound dog misses going outside I may not even hear it..
bibbit June 3rd, 2006, 07:05 PM They Are Lovely Dogs.
We Just Had To Put Our Precious Sammy Down. Dec 1/05 And It Still Hurts As Much Today And It Did On Dec 1. If I Lived In Bc I Would Gladly Take Samantha And Jeffery.
Just Thought I Would Let You Know That.
Thanks
Prin June 4th, 2006, 01:02 AM Sorry for your loss. This is a pretty old thread, but I'm sure there are tons of minpins still available in BC.
Here's a minpin specific rescue I found in BC: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/BC108.html
But you can check www.petfinder.org too.:)
myst June 8th, 2006, 09:40 PM They are doing great, having a few potty issues but the owner is working on that, she was giving them a little too much freedom... MinPins are bad enough but old MinPins are harder!!! :thumbs up
It's good to know that these two are still around - I don't know why - I guess they just remind me of my 'late' Sabrina [same coloring and such] the close bond that they have together [mother/son].
I remember awhile back, some lady came to our place in hopes of finding a 'foster home' for a minpin she was looking after 'ronnie' was the minpins name. The lady mention at that time that she had something to do with minpin rescue of some sort and had mentioned some 'site' on the net - can't remember what site though.
My partner and I were hesitant in taking ronnie in but have often wondered if Sabrina would have liked a companion - sorry for rambling on like this...I just feel so sorry that some dogs/cats what ever are abandoned/tossed out because of some people not wanting to care for them any more and are left behind with a 'broken spirit'.
MIA June 11th, 2006, 12:30 PM Bad news they are coming back to rescue! They are still having potty issues and the husband has had it.... So they will be back up for adoption.... :(
jesse's mommy June 11th, 2006, 12:34 PM Oh no, that's horrible.
Frenchy June 11th, 2006, 03:09 PM Poor little dogs  Will they ever get the break they deserve???:fingerscr
chico2 June 11th, 2006, 04:10 PM Oh no,I thought these people were sooo wonderful,obviously not:sad:
No wonder these little guys have a potty-issue,being carted from one home to the other..What's a little pee ever now and then, maybe there is a medical problem that could be fixed??
MIA June 21st, 2006, 11:50 PM They are medically perfect just old! LOL They are NOT peeing and pooping in thier new foster home so not sure what's going on there, sometimes dogs do it when they are unhappy. Thankfully they are with a wonderful gal who doesn't mind having them... Sam is showing her age more and hopefully we simply won't move her. Jeff is a party animal and will settle probably anywhere.
I hate doing this with older dogs and at times I wonder really is this helping?! I will of course always take back a dog I have adopted out, but how fair is it to the dogs? Tough question to ask.
They will be ok..... :grouphug:
Mahealani770 June 22nd, 2006, 09:50 AM Awe, Mia...my heart goes out to these two:sad: . I can't imagine being 15 or 17 and getting put out. How awful:mad: . Please keep us updated. They are in my prayers.:fingerscr
Mahealani
Prin June 22nd, 2006, 09:50 AM Aw... Yes, it is helping. They have somewhere to come back to if it doesn't work out. It's a shame that it didn't, but at least they're not dumped somewhere. Poor babies. Don't people realize that the older you get the more trouble you have? I mean what do people think they make depends for?!
I'll be rooting for these two.:fingerscr :fingerscr
MIA July 9th, 2006, 11:38 PM Cross your fingers, toes and paws we may have an adopter for them!!!! Also please keep an adopter of mine in your thoughts, she's not well and may have to give up her dogs.....
