Toonces July 20th, 2005, 05:56 PM This girl is at the Quinte Humane in Belleville, she is very sweet and would only come to me with the offer of a cookie, this is what it says on the site.
Shirs
Hello I am a 13 year old female Pitbull Terrier. Her owner went ot prison and the person looking after her abandoned her. She is very friendly and is in need of a foster home as she is very stressed at the shelter.
Does anyone have room for this sweet girl??
Luba July 20th, 2005, 06:57 PM OH geeze her face makes me cry!
I'm praying you have some lovely person who will treasure you as you ought to be treated like a :queen:
Wudjah July 20th, 2005, 07:54 PM The website has a typo - this girls name is Shera, not Shirs. She is going to be assessed this weekend by "Bullies in Need". Hopefully they or Pitcrew will be able to take her. That said, she is still up for adoption and I know that either rescue would love for someone to come in and get her.

Toonces July 20th, 2005, 09:07 PM I met a few dogs for Bullies in Need today. This sweetie I was not allowed to take from her cage?
Lucky Rescue July 20th, 2005, 10:09 PM OMG.
I'll try emailing around.
Toonces July 21st, 2005, 08:19 AM Thanks Wudjah, I could not remember her name when I got home and I checked the site, I saw so many pittys and could not put all the names to the faces .
Wudjah July 21st, 2005, 09:25 AM Were you assessing the dogs for Veronica/Bullies in Need? Did you tell them who you were or just ask to take her out? Her situation is kind of sticky - her one owner is in jail on drug related charges and no idea where the girlfriend is. They just might be being extra careful that nobody walks off with her.
Toonces July 21st, 2005, 10:38 AM Thanks Wudjah, yes I was meeting them and taking pictures for Sharon/Bullies in Need, I also met Star, Dollar and Tattoo. Marja knows me, I foster for GSRT.
Wudjah July 21st, 2005, 11:01 AM I just spoke to Marja and she said that whichever staff member helped you must not have been aware that Shera is going to rescue - she said that the impound card on her cage must have had them mixed up. It would be nice if everyone were on the same page there. Yes, I can say that as I'm the manager LOL.
Toonces July 21st, 2005, 11:07 AM They are always so busy there and it must be hard to remember every single fact about every dog but they are helpfull and while I was there 2 dogs were adopted :D
Wudjah July 21st, 2005, 11:12 AM Yes, they definetely mean well. I guess I always remember the good ol' days when there were less animals, less staff, and more one on one care where we knew every dog's name and history without having to look through a stack of paperwork. And of course a time when we didn't have to worry about people coming in and stealing dogs, especially the pit bulls.
Toonces July 21st, 2005, 04:20 PM That is truley sad that a shelter would have to worry about that sort of thing but with all the nuts out there I can see why
Wudjah July 21st, 2005, 08:51 PM I just got word that Shera was claimed by her owner today. A happy ending for her I'm sure as I was told that the owners really do love her (and her them), despite their other problems.
Toonces July 22nd, 2005, 07:12 AM Thanks for the update, hope they sort out their problems so this never has to happen to her again.
Spurby July 23rd, 2005, 10:17 PM Great update :) One less to worry about at least :(
Luba July 27th, 2005, 09:15 PM Oh thats wonderful news...whew!!
