want to rescue a non-shedding dog, maybe a tibetan terrier?....Help

We are a early retired couple looking for a non-shedding dog, preferably house-broken and have the time, love, patience and energy for a dog, now that our college children are grown up.

I am looking at a small-medium size dog, that is not white preferably, only because we spend a lot of time at the cottage, where he/she would not be white for long, if you know what I mean, in and out of the water, etc. A non-shedder is imperative, a family companion that is good with kids. Any of the 'poo' crosses are probably how I will end up. We have decided not to get a puppy when there are so many homeless dogs around....a lapdog would be ideal!

There are no non-shedding dogs, and many small dogs are not particularly good with kids.

I agree that there are no non-shedding dogs but we have some in our rescue that may interest you.
