Kitten Development Stages – Pet Tip 249
When we bring a kitten home for the first time to adopt it as a pet, it should be between nine and twelve weeks old. This is so the kitten has a chance to spend time with its mother and so that the kitten becomes socialized with its littermates and learns proper kitten behaviour. But what happens before the kitten comes home? This article will outline some of the important milestones in kittenhood in an effort to familiarize you with some of the stages of kitten development.
Kittens are born blind and deaf and they remain that way for around the first fourteen days of their lives. They use their sense of smell to find their way toward their mothers for nourishment and heat. They really need to stay close to their mothers for these first few weeks as they are unable to regulate their own body temperature. The umbilical cord typically falls off after the first few days of life.

I really love to lay down on my mom's chest and not let her do anything. If she is on the computer I walk all over the keyboard and mess up what she's doing so she will get off and let me sleep on her. I like to keep my sister up during the day so she will play with me until I get tired and then we sleep together. I play with everything I can find. It can range from walls, curtains, toys, paper, plugs, cords. I like to get into a lot of mischief just to make my mom upset with me but it doesn't work too good. I don't like my bathroom dirty. I love to lounge on my mom if it be her shoulders, neck, chest, legs or arms. I will stay on her and sleep so she can't do what needs to be done. I am really greatful that I have a loving home now and love it here so much. Thanks for coming and picking me up. I owe my life to my new owner cause I would be put done if no one came and got me out of my old place as previous owners were going to put me down.
