Twinkle was euthanized in my arms on Friday. The end was sudden, although not unexpected at age sixteen. She had suffered from Chronic Renal Failure for a long time but outlived everyone's expectations by almost four years! Twink gave those four years to me--an unforgettable gift of love and joy that nothing could ever replace. The terrible pain engulfing me since her death is a small price to pay for all that she brought to my life. I call her "Lionheart" because her tiny body could not confine Twink's spirit and will to live. I bought a locket in her memory and engraved that nickname on the back. Twinkle's photograph and a bit of her fur are inside. Thank you, my little Sweetheart, for being the life of my household. You will always live in my heart, and be with me wherever I go. All my love, Mama.
