AJ is a super mellow fellow. He goes into spasms of happiness when we return home after being gone for just an hour. When I get out of the car, I hand him a piece of paper for him to carry into the house to keep him from spiniing himself right into the ground in his joy at having his human back home again.
AJ shares the yard and field with a golden brother named Bubba, an old rooster and two old geese. They are all compatible.
One of AJ's biggest thrills is to bring mom a gift. I'll be sitting and reading and he will come into the house and sit next to me and stare until I finally look at him and then utter a screech at the dead gopher that is hanging from his jaws. He used to drop them in my lap until he finally figured it out that it was "not a good thing to do".
