Congenital hairlessness in cats is an extremely rare trait. Essentially, a hairless cat is the result of genetic mutations in one or more of the genes which encode for normal hair development. While the word ‘mutation’ implies that this genetic condition is unwanted and accidental, there are actually many breeders who select specifically for the hairlessness trait and work to maintain the hairless lineage in their cats.

Tipp is a very loveable cat. His exact birthdate is unkown, and we haven't weighed him yet but he is getting very big. He loves kids, but he is not too fond of adult males. He knows when he is being threatened, and he knows how to protect himself when necessary even though he is declawed. He strives for attention. And he will do anything necessary to get it. He is very cuddly. He has an older brother and two older sisters, though they aren't really his brother and sisters. He lives with an 8 month old male Germain shepard, a 10 year old female Pomeranian, and a 5 year old female Chihuahua. They get along very well. He is a very happy cat. In the picture he is very young, it was taken over Thanksgiving.
