Peeps was always the small one of the litter of gerbils. We called her peep peep because thats what she did when she was born. All she did was sit and make little peeping noises, we almost lost her when she was weaned because she wouldnt eat.
As she got older she became a bit of a pushy gerbil always elbowing the other gerbils out of the way, because of her small size she seemed to get away with it as well. We even had to seperate her from some of the gerbils eventually we put her with two of her sisters who she seemed to get on with the best. Peep peep never grew very big and always looked frail but even so she could hold her own.
We found her today on the bottom of the cage with the sisters she loved around her and I would like to think she was looked after by them as she passed on.
The pain right now is very real and I and Richard miss her very much but she has gone to be with her step sister Sweetpea and they are together beating up the angels discussing which angels wing to attack next.
Peep peep will always be in our hearts
