Eulogy from Harley
Cloe Shannon was my first best friend.
I moved into her home mid 1999. I was young, small, weak, and scared. She accepted and protected me. She allowed for her home to be mine. More than that she became my best friend. This meant the world to me because I was so young and unsure of myself.
I recall the different things we did together and how I always knew I was safe when we did them. They were not always the right thing. We did sometimes get in trouble but I would not trade those times for the world. Once we broke out and ran through the woods until we found a swamp. Then we went for a swim and got dirty—so they said. Personally I liked the smell and the dirt. Cloe did not care one way or the other. We both were yelled at a lot and then they even gave us baths. That was mean! Before the baths though some big brute tried to beat me up. Cloe, my protector, stuck up for me and saved me.
I remember another time that we were chasing this evil truck up and down the deck. We were afraid at the time but later I killed that truck because it had chased my friend Cloe.
I’m not sure what I should say. She was my best friend. I would use her tummy for a pillow as you have all seen. I would steal her bones and she would not kill me. She never told when I broke out during the day and played with neighbor dogs.
I will miss her. How can I not? She was my first best friend. I love her.
With this I pray for God to accept her beautiful soul and that someday I am lucky enough to meet her again.
