When it comes to reading a dog’s body language there are many movements and gestures to pay attention to. Some of the gestures are easy to understand. A growling dog is sending a clear message and very few people will mistake the intention of that message. It means that the dog is uncomfortable and you should immediately back off or back away. The growl will likely also come with other gestures like standing forward, ears pointing forward and possibly raised fur. A broad wagging tail is also a clear sign usually associated with happiness and alertness.

Rudy is a wild boy with a very interesting attitude. He is cocky and demands to be the center of the attention. He LOVES people and no matter who you are he is in your lap before you can blink. His way of greeting you is with his big underbite that makes him look like he is smiling at you. His favourite things are people, treats, showing off and chasing Hanna around the house. He works for a living, he is a trucker and lives in our transport all week and comes home on weekends to see the girls. He is whipped when it comes to Nicky our female Shih Tzu. When she is tired or sick or has a litter of puppies he actually brings her his treats and toys it is nothing we taught him but shocked us all. No matter who he meets he makes them fall in love with him he is either giving them kisses or running around and being all cute. But on weekends he shows us his soft side when he hops on your lap for a nap or cuddle and he knows every Sunday he gets his massage so he is ready Monday morning to go back to work.
