High Blood Pressure in Cats – Feline Hypertension – Pet tip 238
Although any cat can suffer from high blood pressure (hypertension) it is most commonly seen in middle aged or senior cats. In case we have forgotten what blood pressure means, blood pressure refers to the force (pressure) of circulating blood against the walls of blood vessels; the higher the force, the greater the amount of stress that’s put on the heart to move the blood. This can cause the heart muscles to enlarge, get thicker, and weaken thereby reducing life expectancy. It’s one of the vital signs used to measure the overall health of many animals including humans.

I love my mommy. I am the sunshine of her life although I do tend to claw her feet when she is walking up the stairs. I am a jealous kitty and I hate when she gives attention to any animal but me, I THROW FITS. I am very beautiful and healthy and live for 5:00 p.m. when my mom comes rolling in the driveway. I am strictly an indoor cat and dont take kindly to strangers. You see, as a kitten when my mom chose me, I was abused and hit in the head with a metal belt buckle by a really cruel person which almost took my life. Rather than give up hope or listen to the theory that I wouldn't make it or I would probably be brain dead, my mom held me up to let me use the restroom, fed me through a dropper with gatorade and now look at me today. I am beautiful, healthy and happy. Thats why I love my mom! I have bad habits like refusing to drink water from a bowl, I would rather watch the waves ripple in the toilet as I splash and I am really picky as I only eat kitten kaboodle.
