Most cats and dogs undergo some type of surgery that requires anesthesia during their lifetimes even if it is only the surgery done for spaying and neutering. Other common procedures that require anesthesia include dental cleaning or dental surgery as well as repairing broken bones. Whenever surgery is done on a pet the topic of anesthesia arises. For the purposes of this article we will be talking about general anesthesia where pets are completely unconscious. We’ve all heard about the potential risks and possible complications regarding anesthesia in our own lives, and so it makes good sense to wonder about anesthetic complications when it comes to our pets as well.
Luckily, veterinary medicine has made huge strides in reducing anesthetic complications. So long as the pet is properly monitored during the actual surgery and the pet has been carefully prescreened for possible problems, anesthesia on pets is quite safe and problems are few.

hello,
I`m Rocky. I am a, almost, one and a half year old german shepperd/labrador. I might look big but i wouldnt hurt a flie. What i like to do most is going in the back yard and playing in the snow with my owner. My favorite toy is a red plastic bone that my owner bought me a while back but i dug it up in the snow and forgot where i put it so now i have to wait until spring to find it again. For now i play with whatever i can get my paws on including my families shoes. That is also why I always sit by the front entrance ( my favorite spot in the house), so i can see who comes and goes and have an abondant source of shoes. A thing I dislike is staying indoors when i see my neighbours dog playing on my territory. She`s a poodle and i must honestly say she scares me even though im twice her size. She barks at me a lot.When it comes to eating, i like home cooked food very much but i also enjoy some dry food every now and then. I like going to the dog park close to my house where i meet my friends and we play together until my owner gets tired and we have to go. Well around my first birthday i started getting seizures and since my owner has being putting this weird liquid in my food every morning. I guess its some kind of magic potion because i havent had a seizure in over three months and the doctor said i wont need the liquid stuff if i continue like this. Everything is going well and i am having the time of my life and i wouldnt trade my owner and his family for anything.
