I had named you after the little Juniper tree in a fairy tale I had read as a child. The miniature tree who was made evergreen by the wind because it was one of the rare trees kind enough to protect a wounded bird through the dead of winter. My little friend, you were a fiesty handful as well and when I found out that Juniper berries were an important ingredient in gin production... I remembered thinking how apt it was and how instead of naming you, you were of that name already.
You are in a better place than me. And that is a balm I am grateful for.
I will miss you dearly, my little one. Your spring was short but what a lovely time it was.
