Xena was the most remarkable and beautiful dog in the entire world.  Her sudden death took us all by surprise and we know that she is in a better place, a place without suffering.  Xena was diagnosed on Saturday with cancer in her lung which was complicating her breathing.  Our veternarian was supportive but yet no treatment could be given to treat the tumor she had blocking her esophagus.  We had to make the decision to put her to sleep, and though it was the most difficult of the choices we have ever made, we believe it was a choice we made because we loved our pet more than anything in this world and we didn't want to see her suffer.  Even though it's painful for our family, we can have solace in the fact that Xena gave the best 8 years of her life to my husband and I, and our two children.  She will certainly be missed by my two children who always looked for her when they woke up in the morning.  Xena was never too tired to play with our children.  I know it's going to take time for our family to heal, however our memories and good times we had with her will help us deal with our loss.  What we remember most about our beautiful dog are the times when we took her to Pennsylvania and she swam in the lake, played with our children, or even simply her greeting us at the door.  How we will miss the times she waited for us to come home!  We will always keep you in our minds and hearts forever....you can never be replaced.  WE LOVE YOU DEARLY!
