has never bitten anyone - ever!
never grouchy, is not bothered when being wakened from her sleep. she expects a treat though.
loves to eat fresh fruits and veggies, yogurt drops, and dried alfalfa.
loves the hamster wheel. loves the hamster ball for exploring the house.
very clean. loves to lick herself (a form of self-grooming for hamsters).
territorial. a common behavior, poops and pees in the four corners of her cage. she sometimes pees in corners while in her hamster ball exploring.
she's a SqUeAkEr! the only hamster i have ever known to "talk" by squeaking. whenever she needs attention or gets excited, she squeaks. by sqeaking back she is sure to answer with a squeak.
has 6 stages in her daily routine: sleepingzzz (with bathroom breaks, eating and drinking in between) => just-woke-up (ears held back, eyes still droopy, but loves to be petted) => alertawake! (eating, drinking, excercising) => squeeeaking (excercising, all warmed up and excited, friendly and needs attention) => alertawake!-and-squeeeaking (exercising but she gets still and tail is rises especially when being petted) => bedtyme (meticulous in gathering enough bedding and food hoarding, sticks 'em in her mouth and dumps it all in her little house) => and the cycle goes on...
usually gets hiccups in the early evening, just about the time she has just waken up.
undoubtedly the best hamster pet and companion one could ever have!
GINGERscapades:
was known to have easily "chewed" her way out of her habitrail safari cage. was once found taking a stroll through the second floor area outside my room.
gradually developed a way of communicating with humans in the form of hamster squeaks to grab attention from nearby people.
Ginger loves pictures. is known to stay still during camera shots during the "alert but squeaking" stage of her daily routine.

Sadly, Ginger has gone to Hamster Heaven on 06/05/2004 around 3:30 pm. Good night, sleep tight, sweet dreams ginger dude! She now lays peacefully in our backyard.
