Hairless Cats – Pet tip 145
For many, just the thought of a hairless cat is enough to make them shudder. For these people, the sight of a hairless cat is shocking, and touching one is downright scary. If you are one of these people, then this article is unlikely to sway you in the other direction. However, if you are the kind of person who has always been a little bit intrigued by the unique look of hairless cats, read on. Behind their striking appearance is a fascinating background, and if you are considering making a hairless cat part of your family, there is also a plethora of information to know about the proper way to care for these beautiful creatures.
Congenital hairlessness in cats is an extremely rare trait. Essentially, a hairless cat is the result of genetic mutations in one or more of the genes which encode for normal hair development. While the word ‘mutation’ implies that this genetic condition is unwanted and accidental, there are actually many breeders who select specifically for the hairlessness trait and work to maintain the hairless lineage in their cats.

My name is Pudder. I was born in Twillingate, Newfoundland. When I was only 5 months old I moved to Iqaluit, Nunavut. It was a scary plane ride, very loud and I cried most of the way. But for the last 3 1/2 years I have been quite content in my nice warm apartment. I don't do a whole lot, sleep, eat and play with my toys. I have my own bed which I sleep in most of the time, well in the day time. In the night I sleep in my owner's bed with them.
I am not a real people person. I get really annoyed when there is a party at my place and tend to go in the bedroom and not come out until everyone leaves. I also get annoyed when my owner takes care of this other cat named Sassy. She is here right now actually. She really bugs me and I fight with her lots. She always sleeps in my bed and eats my food. I don't like her at all!
I love treats! I even do tricks to get them. I wish I could eat them all day long, but I get sick if I have too many and I throw up. Always on the carpet...haha!! My owner gets mad at me then, cause I make lots of stains that she can't get out!
I really love butter too. I try to eat it right out of the container, but I usually get caught. I like ice cream too. My favorite food is chicken. I would die for that. I just can't get enough. I really like Mary Brown's chicken, but they closed that down, so I have to settle for KFC now.
I like my life. I am pretty spolied I guess you could say. My owner really loves me. She kisses me about a million times a day. I kiss her too, and she thinks that is cute, so then it usually leads to more treats!!!
Pudder.
