However, when an animal is sick, or is in the hospital, it can often be very tricky to get them to eat properly. The term “anorexia” means that an animal is inappetent, uninterested in food, and has stopped eating. It is very important to keep the calories up in a sick patient since this is the time they need them the most. Nutritionists have calculated formulas for energy requirements for different sized animals that are healthy.

Hello...my name is Timber. I love water! I also like to have something in my mouth when I first come inside the house, or when I first get released from my kennel. Doesn't really matter what, a piece of paper, a leaf, a stick. I guess my favorite thing would be a shoe. I am the Alpha Bitch. I have a sister Ruby and I used to have a brother, Roscoe, but he got sick last October and moved on to Rainbow Bridge. I sure miss him. Hopefully mom and dad will find me a new brother someday soon. I also have a couple feline siblings and a couple rabbit siblings.
