Elderly cat with dementia now peeing when scared

Hi Folks,

Thea is a 16+ year old rescue who has always been in top health. She is very spry and active but has growing signs of dementia. We have a younger cat (12) who is a menace. There is no way to separate the two of them at this time. This morning the menace scared her so badly that she peed all over the kitchen table, floor and my favorite purse.

Is peeing when scared another sign of dementia? Once a cat has dementia, how long does he/she have?

Thoughts and advice are much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mightymom68

Your cat could also have an urine infection , it may be a good idea to bring her to vet with a urine sample . Poor .
