*waves from Nova Scotia*
Hello, I'm new! Obviously, or I wouldn't be posting here, right? Haha!
Anyway... I'm Melissa, from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the proud owner of two Italian Greyhounds. Well, soon to be two IGs... my second one arrives this week from Alberta. My first iggy is Ophelia, who is ten months old. She's a seal and white colour, and just near perfect. She's tiny, only 8lbs. We show her in conformation; on our first day out she took Best Puppy in Group! Our new iggy is Ophelia's littermate, a boy named Chester. He's a red/sable, and (obviously, being a littermate) is also ten months old. They are my first 'little' dogs, as I've always had large breeds, namely rottweilers before now. It's been interesting! Anywho, thanks for having me! |

Welcome to the forum, Melissa. I used to go showing with a friend who bred and showed Italian Greyhounds. They're lovely little dogs, so graceful and elegant. I hope you'll post some photo's of Ophelia and Chester for us to admire. Big congratulations on the Best Puppy in Group, quite a thrill, isn't it? When I bought my pair of red Australian Cattle Dogs (15 years ago), at my first 4 shows with them the male, Perkins, took out all 4 Best Baby Puppy in Groups. I nearly went into shock. LOL. I am sure your Ophelia will have a great show career after such a good start too. She must be beautiful.

Hi, Melissa, and welcome to the forum.
We would love to see pics of Ophelia and, of course, your new boy, Chester, when you get the chance.

She's just gorgeous, Melissa, beautifully marked on the body. I think I've fallen in love with Chester already, just look at that beautiful face. You'll have great fun showing that pair I'm sure.
I hope you have somewhere dustproof for all your sashes and rosettes? |

Ophelia oozes attitude, she's such a joy to be around... not a typical IG, she's all personality, and friendly. Chester won't be shown, he's a neutered boy. He's just an extra foot warmer.
Thanks again everyone! |
